Not sure how yours updated before mine. I literally (1 minutes ago) was looking at the list and 171 was Van Jefferson, then it refreshed and 171 was QD. Are you a wizard?

Played at vandy
coached at UT for almost a decade I believe, running backs and then d coordinator I think and then coached at vandy for a year before retiring
(that's mostly from what I remember reading. cause i'm only 25)

I've always been curious about how hard it was to switch his allegiances. I would imagine it was hard to play at vandy then coach at UT for so long, then go back to vandy to coach, then go on to do radio for UT.

I love how the the deniers want to discredit anyone and anything that gets in the way of their infatuation with the idol of their dreams.

They question a former coach, who is a HUGE UT fan because he played football for 2 years at Vandy. He coaches at UT for several years and is as big of a UT insider as anyone anywhere.

Then they want to attack and discredit the guys who make their bones reporting on UT recruiting, Callahan and Hubbs.

Think that 247 and VQ could retain their status as quasi-insiders by going out n a limb and telling untruths? If they report something or comment on something, there is definitive smoke coming from somewhere and they know where the fire is at and who is reporting it. They do not report on anything UT one way or the other unless they have sources that come from the UTAD.

Take your TG posters down guys. Yes, he is a very talented athlete, but he will definitely not play QB at UT and is not likely to ever be a Tennessee Volunteer.

Yes they did. They saw both in person. Both have one year of qb film. Gibson is more than 100 spots higher. They reranked them both. Dormady went from unranked on there to a top 175 4 star.

The problem with your conclusion is that Quinten Dormady is rated as a QB and Torrance Gibson is not. 247 does not rate Gibson as a QB at all. He is rated as an ATH. Obviously that would make Dormady the higher rated QB. :thumbsup:

I personally don't care if they change him from 5* to NR. He's really fast, really elusive , and throws well enough to win. Now if ANY of that tall tale written by that Miami guy is true, I'd hope we tell him no thanks. Otherwise, he's a take.

Just from reading some of the comments the VQ guys have made about Gibson's recruitment I hope our staff ultimately decides to back off their pursuit of him. I know a lot of people are getting caught up in his high ranking & that makes them want him to be a Vol, but I agree w/ what a lot of the scouts are saying. Gibson is not a good/great QB, I think Jennings looks to be a lot further along in his development than Gibson. I could see him ending up somewhere like UCF or Miami.

I personally like JJ a lot as a qb as well, but you can never have enough high end/elite dbs , which is what JJ is . Gibson would fill the role as qb that JJ would have and do it well. The only thing about stars , to me, is it gets my attention on prospects I would have never noticed. But, once I've watched a lot of different reels and game footage , I make my own decision of whether they're worth their rating or not. After that, they can dump them from the rankings as far as I'm concerned. Nobody has ever won an award worth bragging about strictly by being Rivals #1.

What thread hasn't been a train wreck other than the ones concerning no sh** sherlock ones like McKenzie. Everyone knew pretty much where he stood because he made it obvious.

I don't believe any of the written OR alleged stuff...I don't perceive him as a discipline problem...I just don't get a leadership feel from him...which is vital if you're going to be THE face of a program. I originally turned on him when he pulled the. "Important announcement coming soon" stunt, and then proceeded to announce which all-star game he was going to play for. I acknowledge that he was mocking the angst on every word tweeted on social media, fine for a high school kid ...IMMATURE FOR A QB...and I don't think he's an even average passer...so we should do what he doesn't do so well. :wavey:

Curious, but why assume JJ is a better QB when Gibson got invited to the Elite 11, had better stats against much tougher competition and led his team to a state title? Don't get me wrong I like JJ and happy he is a Vol but I don't see how he is further along in his development. I think they are both raw prospects who will benefit greatly from collegiate level coaching.
