How am I bashing him for saying that he's a good athlete but we are set at QB? Does that hurt your feelings? Do you have a man crush on TG? He is a helluva an athlete, but we have more pressing needs. Hell, we may not even be able to sign a full class for '15.

The funny part of all this will be IF they take 3 QBs and 1 or both of Gibson/Jennings get moved to other positions and we get no QB in 2016. The same people screaming take him as a 3rd QB today will be the ones screaming "Why can't we get a top QB in 2016"? "Why do QBs not want to play at UT with these WRs(Gibson now being 1 of them)"?

You referred to signing him as wasting a scholarship. You said we had better qb's already on board, and we should take a more polished wr over him.

You're right, you clearly never bashed the guy.

Yeah, but if they moved Gibson and Jennings to another position, we'd only have really taken 1 QB for '15 - why would that prevent a QB in '16?

There are plenty players that don't have a "defined" position. Sort of like that saying, Jack of ALL Trades but Master of none. He's an athlete, and there are plenty athletes that come out every year. He's not the first nor will he be the last. Some of you all act as if we don't get him that we will somehow be irrelevant for the next 50 years.

If we sign all 3, I have a good feeling the winner of that battle will be elite.

If that's true, then a 2016 qb won't matter.

Maybe to the short sighted crowd. A 2016 QB will be way down on my list when our depth chart looks like this in 2015

That is the thing most people ignore in my reason for passing on TG. By the time the "ATHs" would be moved IF they are, the 2016 QB board would be down to nothing. Do you think the staff is going to give either guy 3 days as a QB before moving them? Of course not. It would be months after they get to campus and maybe even year 2 before a move was made. I would be shocked if they signed 3 QBs in 2015 and was able to get a top kid in 2016. Maybe a local kid who dreamed of playing for UT I suppose.

If all three turn out to be outstanding QBs then you redshirt one of the three and spread these great qbs over 5 years. At this point there may not be a better 2016 QB than the three we might get this year.

I'm purely speculating here, but what if one of our QBs (that has already been speculated about transferring) realized after the season that there was no way he was getting on the field. Then we're back to 4 scholarship QBs on the roster. Would that make it impossible to pull a 2016 elite QB? I think there could be other similar scenarios. Two of the potential 3 QBs will be EEs, so they will have opportunities early to prove themselves.
