But I would not consider him one of UT's top targets at this point, if that makes sense.

When Hubbs and Callahan discuss a recruit, they do so with kid gloves in a very conservative manner and you had better take heed. They do not report bs. In Hubbs case, what he doesn't say often says a lot.

The problem is people took "I do think it's at least possible that Tennessee ultimately could back off Gibson" as "they have already backed off and no longer lead for Gibson". Two completely different things. That is what I said yesterday and people didn't seem to grasp that. They chose to put words into his mouth and misinterpret a straight up answer into more than it was.

He said some teams were backing off , not us. You and a few others couldn't understand that. That is why he had to say what he said today. Today he said we have a great chance to land Gibson and that we are still recruiting him. So you will take his word on that too?

I took what Callahan said, add to that what Hubbs said, and IMO you can close the door on TG and UT. I see the class as it is. I see how CBJ has built it. I see where other needs are with few spots left. I don't think I am out on a limb much at all to say those spots will be used on other recruits. Is CBJ/staff still "recruiting" him? Probably. They are recruiting RB as well and IMO will not be taking anyone else there. Will UT still be on TGs list? Of course. The kid is not about to lose 8-10,000 followers 8 months before NSD by removing them.

TG tweeted himself UT had slowed recruiting him. Could he have been joking? Maybe. Add it to what Hubbs and Callahan said and IMO maybe not.

Add in Doug Mathews. He said that he did not think that UT would add another QB or take Gibson.

But Callahan did not imply what you and Tux are saying he did. Today he said we will only take defensive players, olinemen and kids they think could be a superstar no matter if they have others at that position or not. Bryce Love, Jefferson and Gibson. They may not take just any rb, wr or qb but they would definitely take certain ones. He said the numbers would work out like they always do. Some will see the depth at their position and some will regress or not make the grades. About 8 commits we had at this time last year didn't come. The same thing will most likely happen again. All of this backs up what I have been saying. This is not adding extra to what he said like yall did yesterday but his exact words.

I still never saw anyone post what Hubbs said exactly either so I don't know about him.

Sounded like sarcasm when I read it and he since deleted it because some ran with it like it wasn't a joke. The guys covering recruiting said just today that we are still in it.

Its funny when Gibson says we lead or Butch told him he was number 1 he was looking for twitter followers or lying. Now he say something most likely a joke and his word is gospel.

Callahan says its possible we could back off in the future. Yall take it as him saying we have and the recruitment is done. Callahan's word should be listened to because he knows so much and is very conservative with his opinion. Now he straight up says we are still in it and have a good chance and people are attributing things to him he didn't say. But now we should ignore what he said? .

All LV, Butchna, Burger, and many others here are only using logic based on what Hubbs, Mathews and Callahan say along with commons sense based upon the numbers and comments from commitments.

On the other hand, we have some guys who just will not give up the ghost, no matter what. Their every post hangs on what a guy says on his twitter and they get very upset with our use of information because it flies in the face of twitter..:hi:

I'd wager on what they say more often than I would on what statements made on twitter.

When they say something, they are usually doing so with some inside knowledge.

What exactly did Hubbs say? No one has posted it. You and others twisted what Callahan said so much that he had to deny stuff today. Common sense should tell you that we will lose and gain some commits between now and NSD. It happens every year. That is exactly what your boy Callahan said will happen today.

Since you value what they say so much do you believe what Callahan said today? He said Jefferson and Gibson are in the same group of players we have a good shot with and we are still going after Gibson.

I don't not think TG deleted it because people took is seriously. But that is just my opinion.

You made an interesting post, with an interesting point. You want TG's tweets to be taken seriously, us being number 1, CBJ telling him that he was our #1. But when it comes to a post about us backing on, now you believe he is joking?

Just to clarify, I do think we are #1 for TG, and I do think that CBJ told TG he was our #1. But think about when that was said. That was before JJ or QD committed. In fact, that was before I was even aware QD was a human being.

He has also be quoted saying we might be/continue to/start to recruit him to avoid giving a sour taste to his buddies. Some of which play positions that we seriously need.

Hit the nail on the head. LV and the other haters said well Gibson said and they mocked him and we cannot trust what he says. Now all of a sudden what Gibson said should be taken seriously. Well I guess what JJ said about getting a shot at QB should be thought of as a lie now.
