I started a twitter back in the last recruiting class so I could follow what was said in recruiting. A year and a half later and I have not posted 1 tweet. lol:

It is quite clear these kids feed very much off how many followers they can get/keep. Anyone who has followed TGs recruitment knows as soon as he commits elsewhere his twitter #'s will drop like the Gibsonites morale the second the Hubbs/Callahan quotes dropped yesterday. It will be ugly.

I keep hearing about this infamous Hubbs quote. What did he say? No one has posted it. Callahan was misinterpreted so bad he had to speak out against people making up stuff he supposedly said.

"I wouldn't say Tennessee has stopped recruiting him, but I also wouldn't put Tennessee as the favorite for him".

What exactly did Hubbs say? No one has posted it. You and others twisted what Callahan said so much that he had to deny stuff today. Common sense should tell you that we will lose and gain some commits between now and NSD. It happens every year. That is exactly what your boy Callahan said will happen today.

Since you value what they say so much do you believe what Callahan said today? He said Jefferson and Gibson are in the same group of players we have a good shot with and we are still going after Gibson.

But Callahan did not imply what you and Tux are saying he did. Today he said we will only take defensive players, olinemen and kids they think could be a superstar no matter if they have others at that position or not. Bryce Love, Jefferson and Gibson. They may not take just any rb, wr or qb but they would definitely take certain ones. He said the numbers would work out like they always do. Some will see the depth at their position and some will regress or not make the grades. About 8 commits we had at this time last year didn't come. The same thing will most likely happen again. All of this backs up what I have been saying. This is not adding extra to what he said like yall did yesterday but his exact words.

I still never saw anyone post what Hubbs said exactly either so I don't know about him.

At what point do you decide to search for said quote?

Hubbs doesn't think we lead but we are recruiting him. Today Callahan said we haven't stopped recruiting him and we have a good shot.

Seems like we are still in it and have a good shot.

Wrong. All you're doing is posting conjecture to stir up crap about Gibson in his own thread. You guys are pathetic. Hubbs and these other guys aren't coaches. They don't know what CBJ is going to do. So I take what they say with a grain of salt. I don't care what anybody says on twitter because it is a joke. Until Gibson either signs somewhere else, commits to us or CBJ comes out and says something about backing off of Gibson then everyone should believe he is still being recruited hard.

As soon as Hubbs, Matthews and Callahan are hired on as coaches on CBJ staff then their opinions have merit. Until then their opinions are just that and nothing else. People get upset with you guys because you come into Gibson's thread to intentionally post negative things. Everybody gets it, you and the three stooges don't want TG on the team and don't think he is a good QB. That I is fine. But why do you have to bring it up in his thread constantly?

We're not going to discuss this in the Riley Lovingood thread AND we're not going to abandon our points on whether he's a take because it ANNOYS YOU! Sorry if reasons to stock up on more necessary players has to have a "NEGATIVE" tinge to it...happens when you debate something. "The EXPERTS said this" argument has been used ad nauseum from the beginning for the advocates of taking this kid...no holds barred!...now "Who cares...they're not coaches!" because he's 5 star this and runs real good that?...Butch has already sifted through these questions...before we even knew to ask them and we aren't going to influence what he decides... but the purpose of this board is discussion and debate about such subjects...quit using labels and personal jabs when we won't just say "We shouldn't take him" and then go away so you can worship in peace.

Do you blame our coaches for moving on from Gibson? They begged him to come to TN but he enjoys the attention too much to commit. I wanted him to come but was probable just enamored with 5*'s...just as most people are/were. We wil be okay cause WeAreTennessee!! Go Vols!!

Gibson waited beyond when we filled our need at his position. Richmond and the others have not. That is the major difference.

Now people want us to take away a recruit from another position to add a 3rd QB. No thanks.

Taking 3 QBs would be very uncommon. IMO this is when things probably changed. The day CBJ took Dormady, I'd bet the contact with TG started to slow.

Taking a 3rd OL in the class would not be at all. Same with Phillips and taking a 3rd DE, McKenzie/Jones and a 2nd/3rd DT, and so on.
