a lot, especially as people on VN can't get it right either. I will say 10 times a game if/when he starts. oh course if gibson commits and signs it could easily be Torrance Dormandy takes the snap, or Quienten Gibson drops back to pass. that would really freak people out here on VN. Find a site that says Jennings or Dormady is an elite QB. All these guys have yet to play their senior seasons. They are all going to become better passers.

If your looking for any site that says it, 247 does list Dormady as the #5 QB in the country. Also considering they rate him that high w/out any JR film may point to him being rated even higher at QB shortly.

They saw him in person. That is why he is rated there. Its not like film is what they are going on. They reranked him after seeing him in person. He probably won't be too much higher.

Why do most people on here think we need a stud qb to win a championship? Peyton is about as good as you get and he didn't win it. Martin was nothing compared to Manning and won it all. AJ won several for Bamma but he will never be a great NFL qb. It's about team and defense!

I like your enthusiasm, but let's talk .500 first my friend before we jump to 8 wins. I appreciate the work Worley has done and Dobbs as well, but I just don't see either QBing a 8 win team.

Misread what he said. He said with the way Butch is pulling in talent 8+ wins will be the norm, and he is right. You keep getting top 10 talent, you end up being a top 10 team assuming the coaching staff develops players well. And player development was never in question when Butch was brought here. It was could he recruit with the big boys. And so far the answer has been yes.

And on a sidenote, anyone saying Dobbs can or can't anything after starting his true freshman year is not being very realistic either. Winston, Johnny football, etc. all were redshirted and had a year of strength and conditioning. Dobbs came in the summer from high school and was shoved into the Alabama game on the road. So let's pump the brakes on determining what Dobbs can or can not be.

Butch is one of the best talent developers. You're also right about Dobbs. He was learning how to play SEC ball last year.

He said the standard shortly. From Butch's third year going forward, 8+ wins is certainly the standard I expect.

Doug Matthews stated this morning on his radio show, "Big Orange Sunday" that Tennessee will not accept the commitment of Torrance Gibson, should try to commit. He has been led to believe that Gibson has some character concerns and that Tennessee promised Jauan Jennings that he will be the only dual threat QB signed in this class by the Vols and that the Vols promised Jennings and Quinten Dormady that they will be the only two QBs signed by Tennessee in the 2015 signing class.

I listened to the show. For 1 Mathews said he doesn't really follow recruiting. 2 he said no one in the program told him any of this. 3 he is basing his guess that we won't take Gibson off of us having Jennings and supposedly telling him we won't take anymore duel threat qbs. Its not like coaches lie or anything to get commits. This doesn't sound like someone who really knows. He admits he could be way out in left field somewhere. He is guessing a whole lot. Fortenberry ,Callahan, and Bartow know way more on recruiting. They say we are after him. He says we lead. That is solid info. Not a guy on the radio a few hours a week who admits he doesn't follow recruiting that much.

He said straight up that he didn't get this info from anybody and that he doesn't really follow recruiting. He says he is basing us not taking Gibson off of us having JJ committed. He didn't get this from Welton.

If Doug Matthews is your source than there are about 3 to 5 people on VN better connected and you may want to consider changing sources. I like Matthews but he has been way wrong several times in the past and I was surprised. Take what he says with a grain of salt.
