I don't know where he is going to end up. He changes his leader by the visit and seems to love the drama too much. Having his own blog and him saying that just meeting the coaches and people was the thing he love about the process says enough. I still want him but I think he is one of those you won't know where he is going until NSD, no matter who he says his leader is the day before.

From a poster on VQ:

Martez Ivey vs. Josh Sweat one of many great Opening matchups - ESPN

Haubert & Luginbill on ESPN say Gibson should concentrate on WR

That might sound odd, but depending on where he plays throughout the week, he could have a dramatic effect on a defense. Gibson is listed as an athlete for this event, meaning he could line up just about anywhere, including quarterback. However, we feel he will see the bulk of his duties at wide receiver. He would prefer to play quarterback, but he does not play QB on his seven-on-seven team and this is an environment that could expose his deficiencies under center much like it did with Tyrone Swoopes two years ago. We feel Gibson could be special as a wide receiver and needs to devote the bulk of his time to developing there. Gibson, along with George Campbell, could be the two most gifted skill players in this event. If Gibson is smart he will use this week to learn and develop the little nuances of the wide receiver position, which will only make him a greater threat down the line.

I'm not sure if I have ever seen so many conflicting reports
Really hope he decides soon whether he commits to us or not

Jordan Palmer working a bit one-on-one with Torrance Gibson. Gibson wants to be great, he's taking as much advice as he can. Good sign.

Barton Simmons' morning round up from Elite 11:

A late addition to the event was five-star athlete Torrance Gibson and early on in the day the dual-threat quarterback was looking sharp. As the routes get deeper, he struggles because he doesn’t spin the ball consistently, but Gibson had some nice moments for a quarterback that doesn’t have a lot of polish.

Wimbush sounded like the most impressive so far w/ Stidham, Murray, & Barnett w/ strong showings as well.

Torrance Gibson: With two quarterback signees already in the class Gibson becomes much less a need and more of a luxury as he's more of an athlete than a quarterback at this point. The Vols are still very much in the hunt for Gibson, but there are still questions about his maturity that need answering.

Torrance Gibson – One of the most scrutinized players in the nation, Gibson showed in day one that he wants to get better at the quarterback position. He needs to work on shortening his stride and he can get erratic on some deeper throws but his athleticism still gives him a lot of margin for error throwing the football.

Breaking down all 19 of the Elite 11 finalists after day one

I think this kid has no idea what he's going to do.

I doubt he lands here in the end and if he does at this point it won't be as a QB.

Only chance IMO is IF Jefferson picks OSU. Maybe the staff takes Gibson as a WR then. Depending on what DT/DE/OL/CB/LB options are out there, the staff may decide to pass altogether. May come down to just how true the rumors of "issues" are.

This thread finally has some decent info, and the posting has slowed down 90%

Dat Volnation tho

Is it "information" when the primary sources are Gibson and his glorified handler? Asking the question cuz I don't know the answer. :dunno:

I hope the best for Gibson, but if Dormady shines in his senior season as expected I am very grateful to have him as a QB. IMO, we don't land Jefferson. TG plays WR. Everybody wins.

Trust has been the recurring buzz word with this staff when concerning the QB position. It's the reason Ferguson found himself down the depth chart despite his ability at the position. I see no way they could bring Gibson in as a QB if those rumors of maturity issues are true.
