IMO the "we only have 1 QB" debate is nonsense when considering anything that matters in the discussion. If having 1QB, or 2QBs, or taking 3QBs did not affect anything or anyone, then I would agree we have 1 QB and 1 ATH so far.
The problem is looking at it as ANY recruit and or his family would. How many guys UT has committed in the 2015 class will start their careers as a QB? That answer clearly today is 2. Not 1, but 2. IF they took TG with the promise of a "shot" at QB, clearly the answer would then be 3. You can twist it to fit your argument for taking 3, but the fact remains ANY recruit who knows he will be lined up competing for the QB job with 2 other guys just from his class knows the number is 3 and not 1.
Also ANY QB recruits from 2016 that you hope to have a shot at will not be buying your "it's 1 QB and 2 ATH" nonsense as he can clearly see 2-3 QBs from the 2015 class taking snaps in practice and playing "QB" not "ATH".
but lets be honest the only qb that we should be worried about losing from this class is dormady and i doubt he would be afraid to compete with two guys who are athlete especially since he should already be ahead of them as far as qb progression goes. and as far as jennings and gibson they both know they have a long road to being a qb anyway and i doubt either of them care and im sure theyve been briefed on what may happen if they dont pan out.
I doubt he would be worried about the competition as I agree he is far and away the best QB today for the class. IMO the concern would be trusting the staff "IF" what has been reported is accurate and that both QBs currently committed have been told they will be it at QB in 2015. With QD committing as quickly as he did, I tend to think he was told him picking UT that weekend closed down the QB position for UT in 2015. Now if the staff tried to add another late, IMO any recruit would then question what he bought into. Even in the cutthroat world that is recruiting, coaches need to be sure not to cut their own throats.
Had ferguson already left the team when dormady committed?
Yes, he had.
For a long time I was fine with us signing 1 QB in 2015. It looked like that guy would be Jennings. When Riley walked, taking 2 then very much made sense to me. Riley was a better passing QB. Taking Dormady IMO made a lot of sense as he also fit that mold.

I've been lurking for awhile. By my calculations you have used JMO & IMO 3,354 times and spent 12 hours of your life writing just those abbreviations. No ill will here Leb, but honestly I think everyone knows everything is you're opinion and not necessarily fact. Love what you bring to the board. Very intelligent, just trying to help you keep those fingers young my man. :hi:

You seem real specific on this...did you actually count and extrapolate that against THE HOURS OF HIS LIFE? On a totally unrelated note...how many minutes til WAPNER? And do you take any prescription medication?
How come in his blog posts and interviews he always says he talks to the coaches ALL THE TIME, and we are RECRUITING HIM THE HARDEST @QB
