Is that how it works now? Butch just tells people when, how, and where to commit? Butch is good but he aint that good. This place never ceases to amaze.

It's been reported numerous times from our kids that they came to a mutual understanding with CBJ on a time to commit.

Condescension and ignorance never cease to amaze me.

My birthday is October 26th just sayin'

Our son (first baby) was born last year on the 26th. Cool!

Also, I want to go ahead and throw this out there- our son was born the day of the Bama game last year. I think he's destined to play football for UT now. Butch has already contacted us. As painful as the game was, it was nice to lay on the couch in the hospital with him asleep on my chest while I watched.

The rumors of Ohio State and Auburn backing off continue to grow. Miami is said to be taking a pass on him as well. Many schools have concerns regarding him and I understand the NCAA may be interested in interviewing some people involved with him and how they are handling the recruiting process. — Hubbs

You had to be wondering why other schools were not being mentioned in his recruitment. It sounds like TG may be too toxic to handle for most schools. I'm sure our staff feels no different than these other programs.

Only thing I know for sure about TG is from the video I have watched. Don't know about his home or school life and upbringing. Lot's of hints and conjectures about all that on here. But I know that not all 17-18 year olds are the same as far as maturity and work ethic are concerned. I have read quotes that said he is "coachable" and since CBJ is a lot better at evaluating talent than I am and he thinks they can coach him up and make an SEC qb out of then I will trust his decision to recruit this young man. Maybe CBJ thinks that this kid just needs some strong male role models and guidance and he and his staff can provide that. What a win win for both the school and this young man if he comes here and receives that and blossoms. Hope we can look back in a few years and say this kid grew into a strong productive citizen with a college degree and was a wonderful athlete while at UT. GBO and BUTCH JONES

i agree that being a great player doesnt make you a great talent assessor, but dilfer wasnt a great player.

also lol yea saban has 4 national titles on 2 teams because it is pretty much luck and the teams constantly in bcs bowls just happen to have top recruiting classes

Your point would make more sense if Saban was an NFL commentator and reality show host, instead of a lifelong college and NFL coach who had to endure a LOT of misses before he started hitting in spades...who did Nicky predict for the Heisman the last five years? Reason we don't know...he's busy doing the REAL WORK...cool deal that Dilfer gets to skip 30 years of that crap...just gets the label.

Cool! :victory:...in what interview did Butch talk about this?...Oh no...I hope we don't lose him because of the recruiting violation! :scare:

Not really surprising at all. When there is a lot of smoke, it's not always Janzen and Da'Rick passing one around. TIFWIW.

Hubbs also said that UT has been recruiting TG as a WR, not as a QB.

After taking commitments from (2) other kids who will line up at QB, WR for TG is the only thing that made any sense at all. Looking like that will not happen either as Van seems to have a hold on that spot.

Maybe we can all pitch in and get Maxwell a singing stripper for his birthday?

Mine is on the 20th. He is all Vol. He will get a shot at QB. Eventually every poster on here will be happy he chose the Vols.

He will not be a Vol. Coach's are going to lie to Dormady nor Jennings. As Hubbs mentioned Gibson is toxic and programs are backing off him for a reason.

There is no basis for any of the negative comments made about this kid. He is a phenomenal talent and wants to play QB. Let his recruitment play out. Maybe he signs with Tennessee and maybe he doesn't. Regardless, he does not deserve to be drug through the mud. You see what you started Leb? :)

Not worried about it if we get TG then we get him if Not then Juan Jennings is our answer!!!

I think Dormady is the answer. Kids stock is blowing up and the season hasnt even started. He is already a 4* everywhere but Rivals and he didn't even play last yr. Expect by seasons end to be one of the highest ranked PS QB's in the class. Nothing against Jennings at all he is an unreal athlete. We have a very good QB class with these 2 and both have very high ceilings.
