'15 GA CB Micah Abernathy (UT Signee 2/4/15)

For real. I want this class solidified as quickly as possible. We need to get these kids committed, and in here in December if possible.

I think we're fine on DL for the year. Considering Jackson is likely to stay there, Butcher is a freaking animal, Tuttle and McKenzie are Tuttle and McKenzie, Picou is great, and then the fact that Derek Barnett is doing way better than anyone anticipated, and we'll still have Curt next year, and we'll add Ford, and Taylor, we'll be fine.

However, our secondary still needs depth. Especially with Coleman and Randolph leaving openings, and Cam likely leaving for the NFL after next year (he will definitely have a chance if he keeps playing like this), we will still need depth. TK has played great, and Moseley will be okay eventually, but we still need more depth there.

I agree, go after Abernathy and Martin, and call it a day.

I think Randolph has 1 more year after this one.

To be quite honest, I'm tired of the drama with those two. Take Abernathy and Martin and tell Amadi and Phillips to get lost and go to Ole Miss. We'll be just fine at DE and DB without them.

While I agree with you 100%, losing top TN recruits to Ole Miss is not good long term. They already took Richmond from us, and they lead for Gooden next year. CBJ dropped the ball on Richmond by putting all his chips on getting him and slow balling other talented prospects, especially when you consider our o-line state right now. A goal for us going forward should be this, if there are 10 SEC worthy TN prospects in a class, we should be landing 7 of them. In 2014 we did this, in 2015 we have not. We just can't afford to lose anymore Richmond like prospects unless they are legacy players to another school. If we want to be great again we must lock down our state. TN players should be the ones leading the charge of what it means to represent the power T. TKJR, Vic, Gaulden, Malone, Barnett, and Hurd all have done this for the 2014 class, and that close tie to UT will make a huge difference when these guys are leaders of our team in a few years.

We have the inside track here, since his brother played for Butch at Cincy. That may be common knowledge on here, but I just thought I'd bring it up. That plus the fact that he was here Saturday for that game makes me feel pretty good about him.

Rico, Richmond, Phillips, and Jefferson where all guys we wanted. I think we can flip Jefferson by NSD. The FL game proved we still don't have enough playmakers on this team, and Jefferson will be a very good WR in time. Losing Rico hurts, so does Richmond. We have pushed for Phillips hard but when the guy slow balls his recruitment he's going to get replaced by someone equally as good aka Walker or DeBerry. It's concerning that Ole Miss is getting these guys, and it'll be very concerning if they pull Gooden next year. Luckly, this staff is locking down NC. That will ease the pain of missing on some of these really good TN players.

I like getting the in state guys but honestly, we need serious playmakers. And Tennessee doesn't produce guys like Hurd and Malone on a consistent basis like NC or. Georgia. And it's almost impossible to get the best guys in your home state every year. Just ask Georgia. I am all in for getting the top in state guys. However if it came down to it and the better player is in another state, I would think CBJ would take the better player as opposed to taking an in state guy based solely on that fact.

I tried the ctrl+f trick in the last couple of pages- but could anyone tell me his announcement date? I feel like I've missed it.

I'd be disappointed to say the least if we didn't take Abernathy because we were waiting on an in-state player. I also think we can flip Jefferson by NSD if we want him. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with guys like Love in the coming weeks as well. It's pretty obvious that we need help at RB. Hurd is all we have at the moment. Landing Martin and Abernathy is better than anything we could have done in-state this year. Locking down NC like we have is also going to help massively in the coming years.

I love that we are getting elite defensive talent but I keep thinking we are gonna squander it if our offense doesn't develop and that's a hard pill to swallow. But I hope I am just being a negative Nancy.

It's certainly a valid concern based off what we've witnessed so far.

If our defense can stop the run we win the Georgia and Florida games. Kahlil Shy and Quay will be that brick wall we need. Only thing that concerns me is who is the safety of the future beside TKjr.

I think it will be Evan Berry.

Elite Georgia DB Micah Abernathy looks to be deciding soon. Our staff led by John Jancek and Willie Martinez have done an excellent job recruiting this prospect from Georgia's home turf against their DC Pruitt and lead recruiter Bryan McClendon. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
