'15 GA CB Micah Abernathy (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Per Fortenberry, UT made a nice push with Micah this weekend and has the momentum right now heading into the announcement.

Another tall CB. He's listed at 6'0 on Rivals and listed at 6'1 on 247 and Scout.

Martin is like 6'2 also I think?

Big rangy CBs who can run and make plays on the ball. About time

despite rumors that the staff prefers Amadi to Abernathy (likely because he is in-state) I think a tandem of Abernathy and Martin would be incredible. That is two physically superior corners on the outside to match up with bigger receivers.

If Abernathy wants to commit and we don't allow him to then I may question what's going on behind closed doors. You don't turn down Abernathy, and I don't think our staff will. Martin and Abernathy would be an incredible CB haul, and both guys would supply us with instant quality depth.

Depends on how much you value Kyle Phillips. Some think landing Amadi is the key to landing Phillips.

We should go all out on Walker and call it a day at DE. Plus, Walker can play up or down on the line. He'll be a very good pass rusher in time, along with Henderson, Taylor, and Ford. All of those guys are quick/long/hybrid type DEs. All can play standing up or down on the line. Jancek likes those hybrid type guys, and he'll find ways to get these guys on the field at the same time. That much speed on the outside with Shy and KMac in the middle will be a nightmare for offenses. Good times are ahead.

I agree with this and I personally prefer Walker to Phillips and Abernathy to Amadi but with the added pressure to recruit the state better than in the past you have to wonder if that factors in at all

Going to be hard for anyone to beat out Cam Sutton. Hopefully he doesn't leave for the NFL early

Rico, Richmond, Phillips, and Jefferson where all guys we wanted. I think we can flip Jefferson by NSD. The FL game proved we still don't have enough playmakers on this team, and Jefferson will be a very good WR in time. Losing Rico hurts, so does Richmond. We have pushed for Phillips hard but when the guy slow balls his recruitment he's going to get replaced by someone equally as good aka Walker or DeBerry. It's concerning that Ole Miss is getting these guys, and it'll be very concerning if they pull Gooden next year. Luckly, this staff is locking down NC. That will ease the pain of missing on some of these really good TN players.

A package (in a couple years) of Taylor, Henderson, Walker and Kmac and Tutltle inside a 2-3-6 or 2-4-5. :thud:

To be quite honest, I'm tired of the drama with those two. Take Abernathy and Martin and tell Amadi and Phillips to get lost and go to Ole Miss. We'll be just fine at DE and DB without them.

For real. I want this class solidified as quickly as possible. We need to get these kids committed, and in here in December if possible.

I think we're fine on DL for the year. Considering Jackson is likely to stay there, Butcher is a freaking animal, Tuttle and McKenzie are Tuttle and McKenzie, Picou is great, and then the fact that Derek Barnett is doing way better than anyone anticipated, and we'll still have Curt next year, and we'll add Ford, and Taylor, we'll be fine.

However, our secondary still needs depth. Especially with Coleman and Randolph leaving openings, and Cam likely leaving for the NFL after next year (he will definitely have a chance if he keeps playing like this), we will still need depth. TK has played great, and Moseley will be okay eventually, but we still need more depth there.

I agree, go after Abernathy and Martin, and call it a day.

Sounds like the makings of our own (version of the) "Legion of Boom." That's Seattle's main calling card. Big, physical corners.
