I have to agree with LV that we would end up with 1 CB before we end up with 3. I think it will ultimately be Abernathy and Martin though. There is a lot of hype around Martin this year and everything I've read makes it seem like he is a lock to UT.

Crazy to think how good our D is becoming. I will actually be worried about our def next year with AJ leaving. AJ has improved his draft stock IMO by staying.

I'm not the coaches, but they will make the numbers work. If that means cutting a player, gray shirt, or blue shirt, they will find a way. We were supposed to over sign last year and Orlando Brown goes to Oklahoma and the DE goes to Miss State

We are going to GS or BS a couple. Brent and Paul have alluded to that.

They just said the other day that Martin is 100% a take and a huge priority target, I can search for the quote if you want me to.

Miller, Hall, Jackson, Reid and a couple others are already looking around.

Bruce and Lovingwood are likely BS or GS options.

We have a good 6 or so spots left IMO.

A lot of the same folks claiming there would be GS/BS takes in 2014 are claiming it this year as well. As we all saw there were none taken in 2014. Just a lot of talk. We'll see if it actually happens or not this year. They try to pull that kind of thing again with Lovingood or whoever, it's likely that commitment decides to take a scholarship elsewhere just as Horky did last year.

That is a way of letting a recruit go that maybe you don't want to take a hit on PR wise but you need to bring a better player in.

Offer GS or BS and if they decide to take an offer somewhere else then they are the ones who left.

With the need of a P and a LS, I would feel much better if the staff paid the price to get them now so when they are actually needed, they are ready to go. IMO CBJ learned his lesson last year with losing Horky. He won't risk that again this year. As much as the fans would like to see the 2* LS forced out for more *'s, I don't think it would be a good decision. JMO

Other than Miller, why do you think those others are looking around? Have they been taking UVs?

I would not have traded Miller for Abernathy as the staff took his commitment a while ago. With Miller taking visits, his spot is up for grabs IMO. Looks like Micah is about to take it.

I would think Abernathy replaces Miller (who I totally forgot was even committed) and Martin is still in play.

Because VQ guys have hinted that they are still taking calls and seeking to have contact from other staff's.

I think we will add more talent at their positions in the class and that will set them over the edge to start visiting other places and there will be a parting of ways.

Similar to what is happening with Miller at CB with Abernathy, Martin and Reynolds.

Agreed and I didn't include him on my list for that reason.

I am not just picking players due to them being 3*. Look at the positions the staff is still really trying hard to bring a few more guys in.

Those are the positions that we need to make room for from our current commits. You don't see us going after any S's so that is another good indicator that Griffin is in this staff's final plan for this class.

Contrary to what LV says we will end up with 26 or so commits on signing day so LB and probably one more OL spots are still open right now.

But if we want to add 2 corners, another DE and a RB then we will have attrition on our commit list by natural forces.

So is Smith and Reid and Bruce and Ford. Not saying they are not good but you don't have that many "steals" in a class. Not a stargazer but the recruiting services don't get that many wrong in one cycle.

I trust the coaches to get the best players they can.

We will recruit over Miller. I don't think he jumps ship after Abernathy but another CB like Martin squeezes Miller out. Especially since we are going to take at least 5 DBs in 2016.

You mentioned Hall, but last I heard he came to Knoxville for his surgery and was a definite EE. Anything happen since then?

I'm talking about recruiting over kids. If Frasier and Love/Weber wanted to commit, Reid is going to NC State.

I don't think there are many safety/linebacker hybrid guys the staff likes more than Griffin. He could gain 30lb and be a terror WLB or be a rangy safety at around 210.
