'15 GA OLB Quarte Sapp (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Crystal Ball picks: Tennessee 94%, North Carolina 6%
Sapp, a four-star prospect, has referred to Tennessee and Miami as the two teams standing out most to him. But the Vols have emerged as the heavy favorites to land Sapp on the Crystal Ball since hosting him for one of their junior days in March, and nothing has changed following his latest visit to Tennessee last month. The Vols have received the last 16 predictions for Sapp, including three within the past 10 days.

Just saw Quarte Sapp interviewed on Friday Night Live in Atl. Well spoken kid. Milton's defense was stout tonight.

Had had an interception in a shutout win for his team.

Last sentence means Miami is ahead with UT chasing? Miami and UT chasing each other? Miami and Ut chasing some other team?

I think FSU is the offer he's said in the past he's "waiting for" but I don't think they are even recruiting him. With numbers getting tight at a lot of schools on his list who have offered it could be risky for him to wait too long to make a decision.

I will throw bricks if FSU lazily steals him from us.

That's why you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket like Dooley did, and then be left there empty handed, i.e. Santos, etc. Guys have favorite teams, and when those teams offer you are fighting a down hill battle. The key is to have a back up plan, and another back up plan to the initial back up plan.

With Cortez McDowell's move to Will, by my estimation we'll have solid depth at OLB, including:

- Jalen Reeves-Maybin - So.
- Dillon Bates - Fr.
- Elliott Berry - Fr.
- Cortez McDowell - Fr.
- Austin Smith (Committed)

Could it be that coaches simply backed off here and are looking to fill other more pressing needs at different positions?

I hadn't seen where Cortez moved to WIL, but the coaches have said that J. Johnson has moved to OLB.

IMO you find ways to get guys like Sapp if you have room. He's a need in this class and a huge want. You never can have to much depth, and I'm not convinced Elliot and Cortez both stay at OLB. I think Cortez is a very, very good S prospect, and in a few years he'll desperately be needed IMO at that position unless we land some studs in 2016, which I think we will. I believe 2-3 guys we have committed now won't be here in 2015, and I believe we sign 4-5 more players. So, IMO, I'd take Sapp, Martin at CB, Shy, the best OT I can get, and Phillips/another CB/another O-lineman.

JJ is at MLB I thought???

I'm pretty sure that the coaches said "outside linebacker" when they moved him back, but I could be remembering wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. It's also possible that he could move from one LB position to another.

Also Ford could end up playing in that DE/OLB Hybrid role IMO. Word is he is very quick and athletic.

Wow - no posts since 9-3 on Sapp? He is killing it down here in Milton GA. This weekend Milton beat Norcross (very rare thing) and held them to 6 first downs and under 100 yds of total offense. Sapp had two interceptions (one for a TD), 10 tackles and caused a safety.

I am pretty sure we could make room for this guy somewhere.
