I have a feeling TN fills it's last LB spot in this class before Sapp makes a decision with someone like maybea Kam Miles. Sapp's a nice prospect but probably not the type of guy where you turn down another quality LB if he wants to jump on board.
If in fact we're looking to take another LB, I'm not sure we have a viable candidate that would project as high as Sapp. DeBerry would be a great take, but I'm not sure we'd get a commitment from him. If Deberry doesn't pull the trigger soon, I'd be more than willing to wait on Sapp (again assuming another LB is desired)
With multiple freshmen moving to LB, I'm starting to think we may not take another LB in this class at all. J. Johnson has moved to MIKE, and Elliot Berry has been getting looks OLB (WILL, I assume?), and there has been message board chatter that Cortez McDowell may be getting a look at LB as well (I don't remember seeing confirmation on this from "reliable" sources). If all of those guys are going to be LBs long-term, I think LB may be pretty far down on the list of recruiting priorities. Obviously JMO.

He was supposed to. Family wanted him to but he backed off that. I don't think he really wants to go to TN. Apparently he's waiting on a certain school (FSU?) even though it doesn't seem they have him anywhere on there LB board.
That is very possible as well, although I still have a hard time seeing Johnson being a LB in college.
And it looks like Maggitt will in all likelihood be here another year. Reeves Maybin will be a starter for the rest of his college career.
Not surprisingly, the early season-ending injuries to both Taj Griffin and Jayson Stanley in Georgia have caused other top in-state recruits to reconsider their original plans to wait out their decisions. One such player is four-star linebacker Quarte Sapp, who is considering Miami and Tennessee, amongst others. Expect other top recruits in Georgia, as well as other neighboring states, to also move up their decision dates, which is the last thing we need at this point. Early commitments only lead to de-commitments and the dominoes that fall often affect numerous recruits interested in many schools. Not a good sign.
Frankly, I have been disappointed in not seeing Maggitt making many big plays thus far.
His leadership and enthusiasm makes more plays then you know. Our defense is a ton better, especially in terms of speed and athleticism, but nothing compares to the leadership AJ and Maggit bring to the table. Those guys, along with Cam, bleed orange. They play mean, and they are the heart of our entire team.
Can't argue at all in terms of the leadership qualities he brings to the defense. I just cant see him leaving early for the NFL after this year. I don't think he'd be drafted.

Was told that Sapp should be announcing his top few schools this week. Recruiting changes, but UT still seems to be in good position. I am not sure if the Paulk news changes this. Probably UT, A&M, and FSU.
Doubt it. Can't fault a coach for dismissing a kid for that mess. Also I don't think he really acts like he want to be here anyway. We seem like a backup plan
I am pretty sure that we can go no higher than 24 this year. Butch gave Swofford a scholly in August, so that takes one off the 25 limit for 2015.
We will have to lose 6 more, just to get to 24.
