'15 GA OLB Quarte Sapp (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Ill give my insight of this from what I know... He didn't commit this visit..... He was once a silent commit I know he gave a silent verbal to the staff a couple months ago since then I don't know what happened.... Next weekend when they host the other official visitors his spot will be taken if he doesn't commit.... It's a first come first serve from what I've heard

So, do you know anything about Paulk?

OV is solid. I think easy has a good source but with Ga kids, I would go with OV info. Not a knock on Easy but OV knows what is going on most of the time with GA kids.

Thanks OV and easy for what you guys do.

Yeah, something's just not adding up here. I was told Saturday that Sapp was telling other recruits that he was a Vol etc. and that it "should be official soon". I assumed the last part meant that he had told the coaches which obviously wasn't true.

I know he's been a "silent" for a while but it seems like Sapp is trying to fool somebody with this stuff or something. Maybe he's trying to hold his spot so that he can take other visits like OV alluded to. I think that's a pretty dicey game for Sapp to try and play 2 weeks before NSD especially with our limited spots.

I wonder if he was a silent and rescinded following the Paulk incident and suspension. The timeline and idea that he was once a silent but no longer is, would seem to fit that theory.

I could see him telling other recruits and players that while not actually committing. Very plausible. But, if he really wants to be a Vol, it could be a dangerous game per you and OV. And I agree.

I'm sure it's been discussed but anyone have an idea why UGA didn't offer Sapp? They took a shorter 3 star linebacker from Florida that didn't have near the offer list that Sapp has. Maybe they knew Sapp had no interest in them but regardless seems strange.

Same reason they didn't go after aj Johnson he stinks.....:)

OV what is your opinion of Sapp talent wise?

I wonder if he was telling the other players because he was going to commit but when he did the coaches told him he didn't have a spot at the moment. Maybe they are waiting on Allen or someone else higher on the board to see if they still have a spot for Sapp???

Per P Fort

As for Quarte Sapp, he remained quiet on Sunday but that's no surprise for the 4-star linebacker and wasn't unexpected. From talking to several on Sunday Sapp continues to talk about taking two more visits, most likely the destinations will be Missouri and Michigan State.

It's still hard not to like Tennessee's position with Sapp, but the longer he waits to make a final decision the more you have to wonder if Tennessee will have room for him when he's ready to make a decision.

I'm really starting to wonder if the coaches have put him on hold and may not have a spot. He's going to visit Mizzou and Mich St the last two weekends...not exactly warm, sunny spots to go for fun. He is seriously considering other schools, because I don't think he has a spot right now in this class.

"We're gonna need a bigger boat."

"I thought that ship sailed long ago, but obviously it hasn't. I still think he ends up missing the boat."

I think tree puns are more appropriate for this thread. For example, if Sapp commits and nobody is there to hear it, is the commitment real? :)

If we say no but then have room at the last minute, could be a sticky situation.

Fort has been talking about numbers more than Leb lately. Granted, Leb hasn't been here, but point still stands.

I think this is all about Quarte wanting to make this decision on his own terms.

Probably is but he's not making it in a vacuum. IMHO, by waiting so long, he's about to have his decision made for him where Tennessee is concerned.

Very true but this is the recruiting game today. Spots are limited and you can't expect coaches to pass on players who want to get on board now. He will learn a close mouth don't get fed really soon.

Guys i told yawl last week this kid is supposedly already in. Don't know what they're waiting on but coaches say it's a done deal and has been on board for a while.

Is it plausible that, with the DR talks heating up lately, the coaches are considering the possibility of landing both DR and Allen? With OT being a position of greater need than LB, they need to make room for both OTs, and Sapp is the odd man out.

Another scenario: There's a lower regarded LB already committed, who will be let go if Sapp commits because there's only room for one of them. The coaches may have given Sapp a time limit to publicly commit, so the other player will have plenty of time to secure his place at another school.

Yeah, something is not adding up with this one. Almost seems like we may have him in a holding pattern right now. If he is waiting and visiting those schools then I think he might as well commit to one of them because his spot will be gone. Any year during Dooley's time here he would have a space regardless but the boat is almost full.

I don't know what lower rated LB would be let go. I wouldn't want to lose Austin, I think he has just as much potential as Kirkland Jr, and im probably the biggest Kirkland homer on here. Both are going to be physical LBs.

I like Sapps game, is he a must have,
I don't know. I love adding fast physical Lbs, and we always need depth. I don't know how this will shake out

Can't see us pushing Austin Smith away. Could spell trouble for teammate and current commit Quay Picou. Quality DT prospect right there and will be amazing for depth in the next couple of years. Not to mention Smith has done recruiting exactly right and never wavered from his commitment.
