'15 GA OLB Quarte Sapp (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Can't see us pushing Austin Smith away. Could spell trouble for teammate and current commit Quay Picou. Quality DT prospect right there and will be amazing for depth in the next couple of years. Not to mention Smith has done recruiting exactly right and wavered from this commitment.

Where is this coming from?

Smith, Sapp, Bates, McDowell, El Berry, JRM, Weatherd

Possibly Griffin.

That's 4-deep at each OLB position. But man, I don't want to see any of them go, they all look like SEC players to me though I admittedly dont know about Griffin or El Berry's staying power at OLB... BUT, he's a Berry, he'll find the field at some point.

I think they would cut a DB first.....

Picou isn't going anywhere.. He's quality depth in the trenches with the other two.. Maybe one of the local guys could get gray/blue shirted or maybe one of the specialits

So98 if you could pick a # and maybe who you think we go in that direction with who would it be?

I have no clue about the number, but I'm pretty confident we have a couple blueshirt/grayshirt candidates to help with that situation and get a couple more guys in.

Looking at 247 profiles there are a couple commits that have not taken officials, nor been visited in home by coaches. All happen to be instate guys. This will be interesting to watch.

I don't know what lower rated LB would be let go. I wouldn't want to lose Austin, I think he has just as much potential as Kirkland Jr, and im probably the biggest Kirkland homer on here. Both are going to be physical LBs.

I like Sapps game, is he a must have,
I don't know. I love adding fast physical Lbs, and we always need depth. I don't know how this will shake out

Good point. I should have said, "lesser regarded player" instead of specifying a LB.

If the DR talk is valid, then it makes the numbers even tighter. IMO, Butch seems to have enough integrity to help any player(s) left out make other arrangements. Giving them as much time as possible to do so seems like the best way possible.

Yea I like the 3 for 3 swap.. but your right it shall be interesting

Is it plausible that, with the DR talks heating up lately, the coaches are considering the possibility of landing both DR and Allen? With OT being a position of greater need than LB, they need to make room for both OTs, and Sapp is the odd man out.

Another scenario: There's a lower regarded LB already committed, who will be let go if Sapp commits because there's only room for one of them. The coaches may have given Sapp a time limit to publicly commit, so the other player will have plenty of time to secure his place at another school.

This is the post that caused the confusion. Just a random uninformed statement. Then people responded to it and thought it had been talked about somewhere. Neither Smith nor his teammate are going anywhere.
