'15 GA QB Lorenzo Nunez

Little to no mention of UGA going after this kid. Anyone know why? Would think UGA would be all over him.

Richt may not like dual threat QBs. Not sure who they are after but he seems to like traditional drop back pro style guys. Shockley is only dual threat guy I remember him ever having

And he led the best UGA team in the Mark Richt era.

They had that kid who was good, but supposed to be very good. He ended up with the cowboys for a while, but I think drugs ended it for him.

Quincey Carter, right?

yep - he wasnt good with the cowboys but was really good in college

Does anybody have any idea where we stand with this guy on his list? I haven't read much discussion about him.

At first I was a Gentry lean all the way, but after seeing what his guy can do....I would be thrilled with either Gentry or Nunez.

I would like to see a few full games of Nunez. He threw for less than 50% comp percentage and threw 9 picks to 11 TD's.

You might want to go back and look at their films a little closer. They are not anywhere close to each other IMO.

I would definitely take Nunez and call it a day at QB. I'd probably prefer Gibson or Gentry but you aren't guaranteed anything by waiting on either of them. Brent or Paul made a comment today about Gentry that made it seem like Texas will be tough to beat for him.

Yuck. Not a big surprise given his region though.

This kids main goal is early PT. That's what I think sells him to Clemson/SCar. Both ace a pretty open QB competition this and next year, and no commits iirc. We have a good chance of starting a RS Fr this year and possibly beyond and a 4* DT QB committed. JMO on his recruitment.

If we don't land Gentry either then Gibson and a few others are still targets for us. The dominoes will fall soon. Jennings/Lock are starting it off as well as a few others like that 4* who Boise got.

EDIT: forgot to mention the injury to Watson. Clemson can sweep him under the rug as a selling point to Lorenzo even if he will be a major factor at some point

He's not getting early PT at any of the schools he's considering IMO. He is a talent but very raw, he'll need a good 2-3 years to prepare himself for that level of football. Now if his list changes there may be a few schools he could go and play early, I just dont see it at any of his current favorites, not even SC.

That makes sense logistically, but he has really been non-committal when talking about them (Texas). He hasn't really gushed about them, though I may have missed it.

Sidenote: Who was the last starting QB at the University of Texas not from the state of Texas? Chris Simms?

Oh I don't disagree man. I'm just saying that's what he wants. Just like Jennings wants to play QB here. It may or may not happen exactly as they want it, but it's just the selling point.

No doubt. He should re-evaluations his options if he wants to step in somewhere and play early. If he's content with waiting and learning for 2-3 years like most QB's do, then he could have a nice career at a major program.

I was thinking he was before Richt or maybe inherited by him possibly. I can't remember that far back lol

He was before Richt I believe. Wasn't Carter the starter in 1998 when we played UGA? Both teams undefeated and Champ Bailey was the media darling for his offense/defense following up the Charles Woodson Heisman win.

Richt became UGA coach in 2001. Hobnail boot season...sickening.

Historically yes, UGA has had pro style QBs but per 247, for the 2015 class they have offers out to 4 QBs (one pro style Ricky Town USC commit) and 3 DT QBs (similar ratings to Nunez and all out of state)
