lol you can't measure his last 40 yards....he is already at full speed. Most of your time in the forty yd dash is getting up to full speed. Its why quickness and technique is important and sometimes get overvalued when looking at 40 times. Running anything more than 40 for football is useless as its rare that a player does. A 40 time is just a good indicator of speed and quickness, but it's not a perfect system. Just like taking a IQ test is more likely to indicate a persons intelligence and therefore ability to learn quickly. Just like the 40 test, lots of people without high IQ's have become very successful and have other abilities that are so great that they make up for some shortcomings in other areas. However on average these tests are excellent at predicting success, but a good evaluator recognizes the outliers. But in the cases of outliers, these guys always have elite and unbelievable abilities in other areas to compensate for average to below average abilities in the most obvious area.
Also back to the point of this thread, Taj Griffin is fast. He won the FL night lights race last year as a sophomore beating out guys 1-2 years older than him. He blew everyone out of the water in the final as sophomore... You guys can debate 40 times and their validity all day, but results trump all. Taj Griffin is fast and the stop watch shows that, his film shows that, and he was the fastest guy at UF's Friday night lights event last year and whooped everyone. The kid has some wheels, hence why he is a 5 star guy despite being small. He has elite speed.

In total it's about 3.5 yards longer. Not the biggest difference when running 40, but it'll definitely bring that time down a little bit.
40 yards is 36.576 meters.
so if we take his first 3 stints as 3.78s and use
6.576/10 * 0.87 = 0.572112
3.78s + 0.572112s = 4.352112s
Obviously that is very fast for any size, but I bet that the best 40 yard dash times are usually run by 5'10"-6'0" dudes. You need a good mix of acceleration and long striding. That is a sick 40 yard dash for a 6'5" guy.
If you do a quick conversion, 1 meter ~1.094 yards so 40m ~ 43.76yards. Use this conversion factor to set up the equation and you'll come up with an answer of ~4.25 40 time.
That's hellaciously fast
Easier to just set up the equation as 4.65sec/43.76yds = xsec/40yds
