'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Write a check to Oklahoma and make it 9 gmes. Our schedule is hard enough. Pride be damned nobody will care at the end of the year.

This is what I said this year is what we should have done. You don't play your toughest schedule during a rebuild. We have played one of the toughest non conference schedules the last 4-5 years for a team that doesn't make it to a bowl.

I hope you guys are right about beating Oklahoma. My exact fears were realized in that game earlier in the year. But i do recognize our defense will be much better suited for that game in 2015. Come to think of it, do we actually pay Oklahoma to come to Knoxville? Did they pay us this year? Was it a wash?

It happens every year.

Butch isn't going nowhere, we aren't buying out any damn games and in fact we gonna be just fine. Sooner, gator, bullpups it soon won't matter because the BIG ORANGE IS ON THE RISE. Defense gonna keep us in all games next year with added depth, once the O-Line and QB get on the same page watch out. GO VOLS!!!!

They run a lot of triple optionish plays, with a WR in motion. I remember last year this was a lot of talk that they weren't true reads last year, and they were just pre-called.

Even if they never hand it off to the WR you have to always account for him. Go watch the third quarter drive we had against Bama. We kept running VP in motion, and we only handed it to him one time. Best offensive drive we have had all season. Go watch the plays again and watch the field open up in the middle. Every time either a S/OLB/CB has to account for VP. It's a genius design to run a motion offense when you have a mobile QB. It's hard to contain three separate run options in one play, especially when you have a power back like Hurd. We can run to the outside with a WR in motion, we can run a read option and the QB keep it, or we can run a read option and pound the ball up the A gap, preferably the left side, with Hurd.

Oh I definitely agree. I was just responding to whether auburn runs any triple option variations, and I would hesitate to call it that because the QB never actually has to make more than 1 read. It effects the defense the same, but makes it a bit easier and less turnover prone for the offense

I think running a WR motion offense is a better offense than a true triple option due to the ability to throw to the WR in motion. You can also motion the WR and send him down field on a hitch route, etc. Lots of options in a WR motion offense. I don't think a true triple option is a great option for us right now because we don't really have a great 2nd RB threat at the moment. I like Scott, but he's still very young and developing. IMO, the triple option offense and the wing T offense is set up for teams who have no other way of beating teams, aka, Navy, etc. I'm not a big fan of us trying to run a true triple option. I'd be more inclined to seeing more 2 RB split sets out of the zone read and utilizing the passing game in those sets. I really would like to see Scott, Hurd, and Kamara heavily involved in the passing offense next year, but maybe that's just me.

Alabama fans are going to be very upset when they see this kid play next fall. I'm going to love every moment of it.

Personal stories will "leak " after the first 100 yard game...you have to be scum if you don't want to be a Bammer.

The stories I've always heard is about the Barn players getting cars and the Bammer players getting trailers. Is that the personal stories you're talking about?

Noooo...those aren't relevant. :stop: I'm talking about things that Kamara will be accused of doing that made him unsuitable for Bama.
