I would call it ridiculous as well, grandad pants.

lol, and out come the personal attacks. Those pants are actually baggy, the angle is weird and cutting off my feet makes it looks funny. I'll own up to leaving my belt at home on that particular trip though, no excuse for that.

Most everyone I knew in college said they spent MUCH less time on academics in college vs. HS, and most said they thought it was easier. My friends on the basketball team said their grades in college were much better too, because they had more time and more help. Showing up is really all that's required to make B's and C's in most classes if you pick an easy major, and my basketball friends were not academically gifted.

All that to say, your thinking it's a ridiculous statement is pretty unfounded. You may disagree, but it's not uncommon for people to think college is easier than HS.

Looks like the bastard son of Mr.Rogers in that pic.

No offense Jave

It's a bad pic, I don't deny it. Thankfully I don't care about the opinions of people on here with regard to my fashion haha.

Speaking of UT basketball, anyone know the 2 winningest men's basketball players in UT history?

can't say that I do.. by all means enlighten me fine sir

Haha, no, Business. HS was rough, 35 hours in class, 7 different classes at once, each giving HW. On top of that, 2 hour practices every day after school. That's like a triple workload compared to college.

College is 12 hours a week, 4-5 classes giving HW. I had no idea what to do with all my extra time my freshman year.

Im CRMJ major at UTC and ill say college is definitely not easier than HS. I played sports in HS so had the practices before and after school like you referenced. Although CRMJ major is not rocket science, it is not easier than HS. JMO!

I guess I just don't get how 1/3 the hours required to be in class wouldn't make things easier, but maybe it's a personality/learning style thing. To each their own I guess, but I'll take 12 hours in the class to 35 any day.

I think if academics are a huge concern, college is easier to maintain adequate grades because you have fewer classes, more time, you can choose your classes/professors, you have more help available to you, etc...

Jave, my time at CC college was almost unbelievably easier than the private HS I went to. I can chime in more later as I'm finally going back for my bachelors after spending the past 7 years building my career a bit, but I wanted to throw you some moral support on this one. I'm sure finishing up my BS while working 50 hours a week will be more difficult, but knocking out the AS was way easier than HS to me.

Haha, thanks for the support. I'm sure everyone is different, but given that athletes can take 9 hours, that's 1/4 as much time as HS. I can't fathom how that would be harder. Throw in all the help that athletes have available and that they have less HW because they take fewer classes, it seems to me that it would be downhill after HS.

I'm glad he at least realizes that he has to buckle-down now. I really hope he is able to make it in. He looks like an impact player.

I would say his chances of qualifying are 40/60 at best from what I have heard. You can't wait until your Sr. year to "buckle-down" and expect to qualify. Most likely headed to JC after this season...

College is easier to "pass" than in high school... But it is ALOT easier to get above a 3.5 in high school than in college for sure

I went to UT. It was 10x easier than my incredibly easy high school that I went to in BFE Arkansas and 100x easier than the HS in Charlotte I went to. You go to class 12 or so hours a week compared to 35 in HS, and you have less homework than HS. How is that not easier?

I understand being away from parents makes it harder to be disciplined, because your parents aren't there yelling at you to do your HW, but the time requirements in college, IMO, are much less than HS.

What did you major in? I never took as few hours as you did. Sounds fun :)

Business. I never personally took 9 hours, I was just saying athletes have to take that many.

Even with a full 15 hour load, it's still 20 hours less than HS.
