'15 JUCO WR Camion Patrick

As much as I was all for this kid getting to UT out of HS, I just don't see any need at all for a Juco WR in this class.

I agree, especially one who has struggled as much as he has to get eligible. I really hoped he would make it in out of HS bc I loved his athleticism and I'm sure he still has a ton of potential but that is the one position where we have no reason to take a chance on someone. Rooting for the kid to make it somewhere though.

If Butch can get Jackson to walk-on, he can get Patrick too as well.

That would be awesome but if he gets his grades right he will have some pretty nice scholarship offers IMO. It would be hard to turn down getting your school paid for as opposed to paying for it yourself for a lot of people (myself included).

I agree. Has it even been confirmed for sure that Jackson is walking on? I know there were rumors, but he was not listed with the rest of them coming in earlier.

Patrick is still missing from the EMCC roster which I find odd.

I agree with the above opinions. It would be hard for UT to take a chance on him now. We just don't need receivers like we did 2 years ago. If he gets his grades together and finds the motivation to succeed, though, he'll make a helluva WR for somebody. The kid is vicious on the field. More physical than Da'Rick.

Every so often, I hop over to the East MS website to see if Patrick shows up on their roster. The 2014 roster page is blank at the moment ... but ... I did find this on the NJCAA site listing East MS players who signed letters of intent:

Patrick, Camion West Harriman, TN Men's Football Signed 08-16-2014

NJCAA | Colleges | East Mississippi Community College | Football | Letter of Intent Signees

So the kid is giving it another shot. We'll see if it sticks this time. It would be a great story if he finally signed with a school and made good on all that talent.

Nice to see, hope it works out for the kid.

While you're looking, find anything on Greg Miclisse?

Ya know, funny you said that. I did go do some web-snooping for Miclisse last week. The most recent information I found on him was from his Twitter page. He stopped posting in March and said he had to go get ready for the "Next level". In February, he was on Indiana's radar to sign a letter of intent but it never happened. A mod on their site thought it was a grades issue. He doesn't turn up anywhere else, though. Seems like a weird/sad situation.

FYI .. his brother plays DB at Carson Newman.

Nice! Maybe one of these days we will finally all get the closure we deserve :hi:

Cam had two punt returns over 50 yards last night for east Mississippi and a touchdown catch over 30 yards. He's scored a td in every game and getting about 70 all purpose yards a game. For someone who hasn't played in over two years that's crazy. Only a freshman on the roster so will probably have another year to keep up with him. Talks about wanting to go to Florida state now on twitter. I know were stacked at receiver now but this kid was all vol in the past and by the time he could come in we probably won't have north. Great turnaround for him hope he keeps it up.

A quote from the local paper covering the last EMCC game:

Following Itawamba's first of 11 punts on the evening, freshman Camion Patrick fielded Jeb Millender's kick and sped 75 yards down the right sideline into the end zone to make the score 14-0 with 8:40 left in the period. Patrick, a Knoxville, Tenn., native, then broke off a 52-yard return on ICC's subsequent punt, though the effort did not lead to any EMCC points.

and later...

The visitors produced three more touchdowns in the third quarter, beginning with Kelly's 39-yard scoring pass to Patrick at the 11:19 mark.

In total, Patrick had 4 receptions for 74 yards and 1 touchdown plus 5 punt returns for 126 yards and another touchdown. If he can keep up with the schoolwork, he should have plenty of options when he finishes Juco. It would be nice if UT was one of them.
