'15 MD OT Pat Allen

That means Butch has Drew locked up.

You can believe that if you want. We were only a back up plan due to the coaching change at UGA. We could have had this kid if we had taken his commitment early. But he got put off with our drooling over Richmond and putting everyone else on hold at the time.

Once we got back in then he listened and was somewhat open but he was in love with UGA by then. That is the reason he did not commit to us at the all star game.

If Butch is going to shoot for the stars in recruiting and hit on most of his targets then these situations will not matter. But if he ends up missing on more and more targets then he will need to learn something from this recruitment.

Callahan CB'd to the Dawgs this morning... :cray:

Wanted two quality OTs. Allen was the game ready of the remaining targets in my opinion. Oh well.

Callahan still has Richmond cb to ole miss and he's all vol!maybe he's reviewing in alphabetic order and just hasn't got to the R s yet. Still would love to see Allen in orange...we just can't take them all. GBO!

Nothing is certain yet. Even if we get Drew to flip, we could still land Patrick. Honestly, I'm not confident of anything until I read the LOI has been received. I had hoped we could at least get one of them though and it is looking more and more likely that will happen. Which is huge, we needed at least one pure OT. And don't forget about Jack Jones. He's a great player that's still growing and may still end up at tackle position as well.

I hope this kid decides to play for the good guys. We need him and Richmond both to go with the rest of the OLINE we have coming in this year. That would complete this class, fill our needs and add quality deepth at positions of need. M

I refuse to believe we ignored 4-star talents at tackle while recruiting Richmond. We came out of nowhere to steal a commitment from Chance Hall. Not a blue chip prospect, sure, but if we put in so much time to sway him to the good side, you can't tell me that we weren't doing the same with other highly talented tackles.

Not to mention Allen has consistently referred to his relationship with Jones and Mahoney as "strong and long-standing". This "ignorance" narrative that people are painting on Butch is overblown.

As you said, Jack Jones seems to keep getting lost in our OL discussions. Jones played LT at the Under Armour game and played very well against the best high school players in the country. Right now, I don't know if he's a All-SEC or even just SEC starter caliber LT, but he is rated higher than Allen by most sites. If we pull Allen or Richmond, I think we have our two OTs of the future in this class with Jones and Allen or Richmond and I could see each player playing either OT spot or even G. In short, getting one of Allen and Richmond will result in a complete class in my opinion.

I enjoy posters saying Butch, a guy who's about to pull in back-to-back top 5 classes despite nearly a decade of losing at UT, needs to "learn" from his mistakes. As if they have superior recruiting knowledge to impart if CBJ would only ask them.

Chance Hall is the most interesting prospect in the class to me. The staff identified him early, got him to commit, stuck with him through a gruesome Achilles injury, and had him enroll early. They must think Hall is a serious prospect based on those circumstances.

It is not ignorance and you can believe what ever you want. But you might want to do some further research before taking such a closed minded view. I wish Allen would have committed to us but sometimes recruiting takes strange twists.

It's hardly a close-minded view. I referenced a tackle we secured a commitment from in the peak of our recruitment of Richmond. We didn't ignore other tackles. Recruits are allowed to like other schools more than Tennessee; it doesn't automatically mean that our coaches didn't give their all.

I also realize that Richmond's visit this weekend is the product of Butch's relentless effort in recruiting Richmond over the last few years. I appreciate it.

Jones played RT in the Under Armour game. He was the smallest OT on his team's roster. Pretty sure Richmond played RT as well.

I also thought Jones looked better than Richmond at OT but I'm no football guru

I was thInking the exact same thing. Unless, of course, it was that recruiting coordinator at Cumberland College or Berea or wherever...:eek:lol:

I still think Richmond is trolling us one last time to make sure Pat doesn't sign with TN. Just my opinion but I don't think Richmond ever truly wanted to be a vol. Hope I'm wrong

Why isn't Butch doing the in home now? Can't imagine he would just cancel that without reason. Has Allen told him he's going to Ga?

Straw Man argument...trying to use something they never said. against them. Butch said himself, that following some of these transfers, that he was going to try and improve the way he communicates with players.

So, you're post is pure BS. You can't even get the subject matter right.

Decision date and time set for UGA OL Target Pat Allen

According to Franklin (Reisterstown, Md.) Head Coach Anthony Burgos, four-star offensive lineman Patrick Allen has decided exactly when he will make a decision.
"We will have a signing ceremony for all of our kids and Pat will be the last one to go," Burgos said in a telephone conversation with Dawgs247. "He will go about 8:50 to 9 that morning on signing day and at that point he will announce and sign."

Burgos added that there will be a live stream of the announcement. Allen will decide between Georgia, Oklahoma, and Tennessee at that time. The Volunteers were expected to visit Allen on Friday but the talented tackle informed Dawgs247 on Friday night that the coaches did not make the trip.

UGA it is.

You're right. You're the one who makes total sense, and the last three pages are about current players transferring.
