'15 MD OT Pat Allen

Decision date and time set for UGA OL Target Pat Allen

According to Franklin (Reisterstown, Md.) Head Coach Anthony Burgos, four-star offensive lineman Patrick Allen has decided exactly when he will make a decision.
"We will have a signing ceremony for all of our kids and Pat will be the last one to go," Burgos said in a telephone conversation with Dawgs247. "He will go about 8:50 to 9 that morning on signing day and at that point he will announce and sign."

Burgos added that there will be a live stream of the announcement. Allen will decide between Georgia, Oklahoma, and Tennessee at that time. The Volunteers were expected to visit Allen on Friday but the talented tackle informed Dawgs247 on Friday night that the coaches did not make the trip.

Smokescreen?

I refuse to believe we ignored 4-star talents at tackle while recruiting Richmond. We came out of nowhere to steal a commitment from Chance Hall. Not a blue chip prospect, sure, but if we put in so much time to sway him to the good side, you can't tell me that we weren't doing the same with other highly talented tackles.

Not to mention Allen has consistently referred to his relationship with Jones and Mahoney as "strong and long-standing". This "ignorance" narrative that people are painting on Butch is overblown.

Excellent post... One of those "ideas" on VN that got repeated enough that it became fact. Lol

I enjoy posters saying Butch, a guy who's about to pull in back-to-back top 5 classes despite nearly a decade of losing at UT, needs to "learn" from his mistakes. As if they have superior recruiting knowledge to impart if CBJ would only ask them.

Excellent post as well

You can believe that if you want. We were only a back up plan due to the coaching change at UGA. We could have had this kid if we had taken his commitment early. But he got put off with our drooling over Richmond and putting everyone else on hold at the time.

Once we got back in then he listened and was somewhat open but he was in love with UGA by then. That is the reason he did not commit to us at the all star game.

If Butch is going to shoot for the stars in recruiting and hit on most of his targets then these situations will not matter. But if he ends up missing on more and more targets then he will need to learn something from this recruitment.

Dude is about to wrap up his second consecutive top 5 class.....at this point, there's very little he has to learn about recruiting, Pat Allen notwithstanding.

I'm trusting Butch on this. We went all out on Richmond once and got burned. Let's hope this doesn't come back to bite us. We really need another OT prospect for the future.

We will mot be bitten even if Richmond sticks with OM. Fact is, we will have at least the 2nd rated class if not the #1 this year. How can anyone say we were bitten?

Having OT depth has zero to do with our class ranking. I could sign ten of the top WRs in the country and come out with a top 5 class. That doesn't mean I created great depth across the board. We need some OT depth for the future because right now we have Hall, Kendrick, Blair, and Jones for 2016. Hall is coming off a massive injury and Kendrick is in CBJ's dog house, or has been. Sanders should have had a chance to play OT as well, but that's another story for a different day. Richmond/Allen won't break us, but they sure would help. Outside OT, which hasn't been awful, CBJ has knocked it out of the park.

He decommitted after the coaching shakeup. I could see a kid recommit after meeting the new coach. Just hope he picks OU.

I know the back ground but it is unusual if a player de-commits to a team (no matter the reason) if he re-commits to them again later.... But it could happen
