Just hope Butch can turn mama into a Vol fan. She was visibly unhappy and even said as much. Sorry but if my sons get full rides to any d1 program, especially SEC, I would be dancing around the table during the commitment and or signing.
I have not seen any quotes from her, what did she say that makes her seem unhappy?
While Tuttle has been sold on Tennessee for at least a couple of weeks, his mother didnt necessarily agree with his decision. She said it was an emotional day, and she was excited for him, but she admitted would have preferred for him to stay closer to home.
Every once in awhile I venture into this thread just to smile and reflect on what the competition is going to have to deal with in the near future. Shy and K-Mac. Oh, my.
I guess if he signed an NFL contract with Seattle, she'd complain that she wanted him closer to home. Cut the strings parents. NC is a dumpster fire right now. And Knoxville is really not that far from his home town.
Also from 247...
"For now, though, he appears to be firmly committed to Tennessee, and the fact that he chose the Vols despite his mother admittedly preferring North Carolina speaks volumes of his desire to go to Tennessee"
All I can think of is the proximity and Fedora must have been walking around shirtless during their in-home. She'll come to her senses. He'll really blossom with KMac beside him.. Dare I say, KMac will really help Tuttle come of his shell... (ya or nah?) ??
Let me dig for it, she basically said it was his choice but she wanted him close to home and wanted him at North Carolina.
I wonder if we'll have a tough time attracting blue chip offensive linemen having these two guys committed. Maybe they'll think twice considering they'll have to go against them everyday in practice.
I've actually thought the same thing. In linemen's threads, people are warning them about having to face them every year. What about 5-20 reps every practice. Need the guys who aren't intimidated. See "Jack Jones"
Yea, I was being half way serious but as a big time lineman, I would think you'd relish the possibility of going against the best every day in practice. That way when you play the LSUs, Alabamas and Floridas of the world it's no different than practice. I think maybe a real stout D line will make the o line that much better.
