'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

South Carolina fans say he has grade issues.

Can someone please confirm this as falsehood so I can smack them back with some truth?

He's an EE. No grade issues.

On the other hand, maybe they assumed he committed to them and since they have had a string of non-qualifiers, they jumped to that conclusion.

Not one service from ESPN, Rivals, Scout, or 247 has mentioned this, ever. Moreover, as mentioned, he's planning on being an EE. I think that removes a huge percentage of any doubt out there.

Tennessee: DT Shy Tuttle — In the SEC it’s all about the trenches. Freshmen Derek Barnett has made an impact at defensive end and Tuttle is hoping to make the same type of impact as a defensive tackle. It’s difficult to come in and be a difference-maker up front, after all there are some very physical offensive linemen in the SEC, but Tuttle has the size and athletic ability to stand up against the rigors of the SEC. The Vols will need his presence early on in his career.

Most of Kahlil's size is in his lower body, too. It wouldn't surprise me if Shy got more playing time being an ee.

I'd be shocked if KM wasn't starting at DT next season. KM's the best looking DT prospect I've ever seen at UT. I hope Shy can match KM for playing time as that would mean he's outstanding also!

That pic of him in the tweet thread shows it is important to have lower body strength. Did you notice how strong his legs were? That poor OL which had strong arms was not even able to get his hands on him!!! I think Kahilil starts day one imo. Shy might too, just more confident in Kahilil starting.

There ain't no way K-Mac and Tuttle aren't in the 2-deep next year. Experience be damned. Strip and Janzek both sounded very worried about the DT's being undersized, during fall camp.

Strip has done a great job offsetting their size with movement technique and hand violence, as they call it.
