Here is what we do we take him go ahead and lock up mckenzie and Tuttle, tell them both you two are fine no matter what, tell Jones if you commit to us we will drop Johnson like fat girls under wear at a Ricky Martin concert.

Ah last I saw was a while ago he was at 265 and wanting to play DE.

Still, assuming he's a DT, that's 2 for sure who will play DT from last class, and in 2 years we lose Williams Saulsberry Obrien and we lost Carr and Malik already. If 3 true HS DT and DJ want to come, I think it would be smart to take them.

I don't know but the world has been turning these past few days. McKenzie is looking to shut down his recruiting. Settle puts out a list with us on top. Both are 5 stars. If I wanted a spot I might get itchy and see if they'd take my commitment now so I could lock in my spot. Remember Connor Humphreys? And Maybe Ugo Amadi? Like I said I don't know.

I think Barnett weighed in at 273 at The Opening last July and I have heard he is right at 280 right now.

I think the DL recruiting is going to be very fluid this year and the numbers will change depending on how Barnett, Sawyers, Mosley, Robertson, Williams, Mixon, Hendrix, Henderson, and Johnson perform in camp. I think 4 is the floor and 7 is the ceiling for the DL class this year.

Sounds about right. I guess I feel really good about Hendrix Henderson and Vereen for the next few years playing DE, and not so good about Sawyers Mosley and Roberson playing DT, so in in the "load up on DT" boat.

True. Maybe Johnson called up Butch to see if he could commit and Butch said not right now, he gets upset and decides to make some calls to his other favorites and is going to go public tonight with a school that said yes.

Personally, I hope Butch said yes and he's picking UT tonight. Can't see turning down this kid even if Settle, DJ Jones and McKenzie also want to be Vols. Take 4-5 top shelf DT's if you can get them. JMO

All these quotes make it sound to me like the coaches may not value him a must take like many of us. I would not be shocked at all if he announces somewhere else tonight.

I trust whatever Butch does but I would be scratching my head a little if we turned him down. Recruiting is such a fluid process. Last year was a good reminder that commits can be asked to look elsewhere before signing day. I say rake in all the talent we can and let it work itself out haha

Here's what I'm thinking. Either we got bad news on some other DL we were looking at... or perhaps another transfer is about to happen opening up another spot... or Weatherd won't make it in... or we are being trolled.

I've only seen one quote from Callahan suggesting he may not be a take. What other quotes are you referencing?

Tennessee has long been out in front there. Johnson's stock has fallen off a bit with those who have seen him at camps and such.

I'm not sure right now. Tennessee had a lot of momentum recently, but I know there are a lot of DTs still on the board that are high on Tennessee and are more highly thought of. It's a situation we will be monitoring tonight if he does indeed make a commitment.
