'15 NC RB Bryce Love

I was just pointing out that where you said Love was stronger and more shifty than Cottrell was not accurate. Cottrell's shuttle time is faster and if you compare their power ball toss, once again Cottrell is stronger.

I'm not saying Nathan has better "football skills", just a better athlete. As I posted, the numbers are clear. Is Cottrell a better football player? Of course that is debatable. They both play RB and Cottrell did average more yards a carry as a RB. When I am looking at apples to apples, Sparq testing, and HS stats, and film, I see something different than you do. Of course with you and I, that's normal.

Also much like with Gibson, you have no idea IF CBJ would take Love today or not. He has 2 RBs onboard and he took 3 last year(knowing 1 would likely RS in Paulk). Would he take a 6th RB in a 2 year cycle? I doubt it, especially with what is left on the board at other positions of need. IMO it's UNC or Stanford for Love.

What I meant by stronger was that to me it looks like he runs stronger with more tackle breaking ability. I think the film shows he has more shake to him also. Shuttle is quickness. So maybe you could say NC is quicker. Straight up speed Love is faster though. A laser 4.30 to a laser 4.35. Both are burners though. I would actually have liked for NC to get an UT offer. The coaches didn't think he had the skills apparently. The reports are that even with 2 rbs that we will take Love if he wants to come regardless of numbers or commits at his position. He is explosive and skilled.

But you are right. Nobody knows for sure what prospects will be accepted if they want to come. Maybe you shouldn't be so adamant about claiming you know for sure who we will and won't take.

It has nothing to do with that bs. Love is just a WAY better football player. I bet you would get mad if someone said that is the reason some are being extra hard on a Black qb like Gibson. His film and measurables are incredible but some just think he is horrible for some reason.

NC is fast but not as strong or shifty as Love.

Agree that Love is a better player than Cottrell. Would love to have his speed on the roster but not sure we have a spot unless they tell Reid to look around.

As far as Gibson, you know exactly why everybody has cooled on him. It's not his talent. It's the off the field issues that not only UT has evidently identified but also Ohio St and Auburn as well. Plus, we already have our 2 QBs, both with different skill sets, both high character kids....one white, one black.

Yes Love is way better. Spots don't matter one bit. The reports have all said we will take Love no matter the numbers or commits we have. It will work it self out one way or another. Maybe Reid sees he is over recruited and decommits. Maybe someone else does and we take all three. Either way if Love wants to come to UT he has a spot.

The experts say the "issues" are rumors. Nothing substantiated. Also the schools that supposedly backed off apparently haven't. There is no "we already have our qbs" with the actual coaches. They are still after TG.

Butchna brought up race as saying he thinks that is why people think Love is better than Cottrell. I said its not. He is just better. I think if someone made the same argument that him and others only think Dormady is better due to race he would be upset. Its very hypocritical.

You're easy. :wink2:

Who are the experts? Ton of smoke around this kid regarding getting kicked off his HS team and grade concerns for there to be no fire IMO. And no one who's followed him on twitter needs an "expert" to see that the kid has significant maturity issues. I just don't think he's a good fit with what type of player this staff seems to want. I certainly have no inside information, just putting 2 and 2 together. I'd rather have Jauan Jennings personally.

Shouldn't you be pullin for Kansas kids Leb? Wichita doesn't have any HS talent you can steer this way??

I went to Hutch and locked up Kamara, I can't stock the whole RB position. :birgits_giggle:

I'm a part time resident of about 8 states. My heart will always be in Tennessee and with my Vols.

I would be surprised if we took another back in this class, unless one of them de-committed and went somewhere else.

I don't really have a dog in this discussion, but it does seem a little odd to ooh and ah over one kid running 4.3 and another kid it's "not football speed". jmo

This!

I don't pretend to know how to evaluate HS recruits although I enjoy reading about the process. CBJ's future at UT depends upon him doing it well so I'll trust him to go after the guys he decides are best unless he gets 3-4 years at UT and we're still not a top 20 team.

I do find it funny how some of the VN experts were using almost the exact same quotes to support BL but knock NC. VN is a fickle board for sure. :hi:

It's not that hard. You take Love's commitment 100% if he gives it. You then keep all three in the fold happily. At that point Rocky will look at the situation and decide if he wants to stay committed or look around. Coaches would try like hell to keep him but he may just not like TNs situation as much if Love is added to he and Kamara.

You don't take 3 top RBs in each class in two consecutive recruiting classes. We have some other needs that are much more pressing.

We need some defensive backs badly, along with players on both lines. I hope we grab a Juco on the Dline.

CB is our biggest and most pressing need. We are done at safety.

DT is a big need, followed by linebacker and DE.

Wears #22 with a similar build and speed that's reminiscent of Lamarcus Coker! :dance2::eek:lol: Though, after watching an interview, he composes himself and answers with a professional attitude, in a setting which you know has to be nerve-wracking for any 17/18 year old to have a dozen microphones shoved in front of them. I'll take a Lamarcus Coker skill-set with a 4.5 high school GPA that Rivals reports for Love any day of the week. There are handfuls/dozens of athletes around recruiting that have speed, but I'm almost even more impressed by his GPA of 4.5 than his 40 time of 4.3-4.4. That shows that not only is he able to dominate athletically, he's going above and beyond in the classroom by taking advanced placement (AP) courses voluntarily, hence why that GPA is so high. An intelligent player with blazing speed: those are the kind that we need in orange.

6 RBs in 2 years would create a log jam and we have too many other needs to create a log name, and log jams often result in transfer, thus wasted scholarships.

Yeah... Alabama clearly doesn't know what they're doing in recruiting. They obviously need your expertise tux.
