'15 NC RB Bryce Love

I've not seen that confirmed yet. Even if it is, Dobbs would still be the starter and I'd have the better of Dormady/Jennings after camp as my #2. The other would ideally RS then I'd add Kendall and another QB in 2016.

I would not EVER waste my time taking 3 QBs in a class. I would not spend my time coaching 3 guys in 1 class knowing full well at least 1 of them and possibly 2 never see year 2 or 3.

As I have said in other threads, I WOULD consider a Juco with 2 to play 2 IF Peterman were leaving.

The coaches likely have a more thorough grasp of the situation than you or I though. If that is true and likely they would know, then 3 seems more reasonable. If you see what they are limiting Dobbs to as far as passing due to his inaccuracy in the middle of the field then you can see 3 makes even more sense because we maybe looking at a true freshman starting by the end of next year and it may not be because of injury. They do not trust Dobbs to exploit the middle of the field no matter what the defense gives them to this point. The inaccuracy in the Vandy game gives me a good idea why he has been limited as well.

For Leb and all others that think signing a class of 32 is a problem with having players stay do not know our history. Dickey took over a team that had a 4 year winning percentage of 53% and what did he do? His first recruiting class on the varsity roster was 42 players. His second year he added 32 new players. In his fourth year he won a regular season NC.

Yes, this was during a time of no scholarship limits but the numbers and results speak for themselves.

I can only hope that Jones will continue to take advantage of adding as many players as possible to change the roster that started with a four year winning % of 39%. By the way Jones is the only coach in the last 60+ years to inherit a team from a losing program.

The only thing limiting Dobbs IMO is the OL. I'm not a coach and that is very apparent to me.

I felt confident in saying Worley would be the starter going into 2014. I am very confident in saying Dobbs will be the starter in 2015. Some are looking for an excuse to justify signing 3 HS QBs in 2015. I'm just not that guy.

Completely different era. Not comparable IMO.

Why do you think Worley exploited the middle to the TEs so much in the past? What attribute do you think that Worley has that Dobbs doesn't? It's sure as hell not elusiveness, it's accuracy.

Eh Sorry Bryce, sorry we can't take ya, man. You see we have one proven SEC running back, though there is this stellar prospect coming in and a sack of potatoes after that. But we should be fine next year competing against Florida, Arkansas, Georgia, and Alabama... oh and those games are consecutive except for a bye before the country's most physical team.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure, we'll be aight!!!

At QB, how many "starters" do you think you're supposed to have?

How about at RB?

My thought was the starter is the (1) who starts.

You need 3 guys capable of taking over the starting duties at any time at both positions. If we had 2 capable of starting at both spots already on the roster you do not see these increased numbers imo. We don't right now and that's why you are seeing this. Next year you would not.

From a similar discussion on VQ:
You don't get deep again by losing highly rated signees at positions of need. If Hendrix and Scott leave, we essentially signed 1 RB and 1 DE last year. Yes, both of those players are amazing, but that's not building depth.

If Sawyers doesn't make it through, that's 1 high school DT.

Through 2 signing classes, we have signed and retained the following:

4 DE's: Barnett, Vereen, Vickers, Miller
3 DTs: Mixon, Williams, Sawyers
2 OTs: Kendrick, Blair
1 QB: Dobbs
1 RB: Hurd

That's a problem.

This is why you recruit 3 guys @ a particular position.

He's in ignore and I still have to read his stupidity. He tries to work numbers out for the coaches in recruiting(like who does that all day). Dude says we won't win the SEC when there's quite a few people who expect Tennessee to be a conference contender next year. He's Derek Dooley 2.0 period.......

We also had Jabari Davis , Derrick Tinsley, and Cedric Houston in the same class. 2001 I think it was. So this happens and is certainly not unprecedented.
