'15 NC RB Bryce Love

athletes make up less than 1% of the UNC population and the majority do attend classes.
There is no denying by any measure that UNC is an EXCELLENT university and has been consistently been ranked in the top 10 public universities for more than thirty years. That argument just won't work.
To your point however, if the athletic department in any way condoned or facilitated the academic transgressions involving even a single player, then in my opinion as an alum it weakens my degree and is a travesty.

I honestly believe that these transgression if proven true, warrant the strictest penalty allowed, as I agree with you that it undermines what the entire concept of collegiate athletics. This is far worse than signing jerseys, buying tacos, or even paying players in my opinion.
I don't think UNC is in the hunt for Love for these and other reasons. Stanford however I think pulls this. If he posted his excitement over being "accepted", that means Stanford. I hope Butch and the boys can lure him away, maybe mentor him with Dobbs. The combination of style between his speed and elusiveness and Hurd's punishment is very attractive.
If we could pull he and a solid OT, I would be celebrating a huge victory for UT recruiting.
(they have already put together a spectacular class)

The real question is do we know anything recent about interest between he and UT or Stanford?

Pretty much my argument.

So we should only question the integrity of 5-10% of the graduates? UNC athletics wiped their anus with the academic integrity of the college.

That fact is hardly my point, which was that in terms of ranking and reputation, UNC is an excellent public university, despite griddie's opinion otherwise.

The perception of the academics of the university as a whole is not the most pertinent piece of information. Very few students at UNC are athletes. However, what is an absolute fact is that if your resume says "member of basketball/football team" and "Degree from UNC" there are certainly employers out there that will not hire you. There is now a stigma in the business world attached to athletes with degrees from UNC. Will every employer hold this against these athletes? No. But some will and that limits the opportunities available if you choose to be an athlete and get a degree from UNC.

Whether it's prestigious or not, if UNC is handing out degrees, I'll gladly take one.

Also, I posted previously that UNC may be a dark horse with Love. My personal gut feeling still says this is the case, being in-state and with his original interest, but as of yesterday I was told he is basically a lock to Stanford.

I think the only way he decides against the Cardinal is if he wants to stay a little closer to home. At that point, UT may not have an opening for him.

Well Glitch, I don't know if "OMAHA" will work or not but it did change the subject.

Posting "Omaha" was suggested as a panic word for derailed threads. The idea was when "Omaha" was posted it would let everybody know to move on and get back on topic. I thought I would try it out.

oh I know was just messing around.

Does anyone know what major he would want? This could be a difference maker. For example, if he wanted to be a teacher, then the Stanford degree would not differ that much for his future job prospects outside of football. You would not pay out of pocket for a degree to a school for some majors in undergrad. It makes no sense to do so.

If it failed your reading comprehension. The topic of discussion is the academic draw toward one of three schools by Mr Love.
My degree is only mentioned in reference that I have more vested interest than any of these people discussing it, and even I believe that UNC deserves the worst possible punishment.
I am just as proud of all three of my degrees from UT.
As to your retaliatory tone...Go **** yourself!

He learned that language from CBJ. Shame on Sobe! Also, that is a tough position for most old men to get in if they were actually going to do that to themselves. Don't try it if you are not a pro.
