'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad this kid is coming to UT. But we need a QB who is ready to come in a fight for a starting job as a freshman. And he just doesn't isn't there yet. Unless he makes leaps and bounds this senior year, and I mean outlandish improvement. He is a kid you red shirt, and still might not be ready until junior year. That is, if he sticks at QB.

He is very athletic, but very very raw at QB. Does he have what it takes to eventually be a great QB? Sure. Is he willing to put in the work? From what I've heard, yes. But when it comes down to it, will he wait around, learning, long enough? He seems like the kind of person who would. Will we have over recruited him by then? My guess would be yes.

Lets not forget, we appearing to be trying to take another QB for 15, and 16 class looks to have some serious talent...

Nobody is beating Dobbs out next year either way. We do need someone ready to play if he gets hurt and push him but nobody is beating that kid out after another year in weight room and even more work/experience

You don't know how badly I hope this is right.

...stop acting like you're a coach and know how to break down his game tape and all. So damn many "experts" on VN, and most couldn't buy a clue if they just left the bank.

You don't know if he's a project or not. His passing game is noticeably better than TG, but trying to say this player is ready to start as a freshman and this one isn't...you flat out don't have a clue, hoss. Not even the coaches know until the kid is signed and going through practices. Even then, it may take a year or two to see what shakes out.

Although I appreciate the cocky jerk angle, I will try a different route.

If you cannot tell by the Jennings highlights, that he is behind the 8 ball... I have found a forum better suited for you. Tennessee Vols Basketball - VolNation

lol

but Nathan Cottrell is a beast!! amirite!

Funny, the only post I made in that thread was to let you know that you don't have to read it. Sorry that I pissed you off to the point that you are now chasing me into other threads to call me out. :good!:

Negative. You don't have a clue, but love to pretend that you do. So many self-appointed QB experts here, like yourself, yet no credentials whatsoever to speak on a player's readiness.

You were probably one of those "guru's" who anointed Ferguson as the starter this fall....because he was "ready." Guess that prophecy went to sh!te. What's next, Nostradamus?

I went with Worley. Because of his "experience". I think Worley makes marginally better decisions than Dobbs through out the game. But I like the mobility that Dobbs brings. It's okay though, keep acting like you know me.

Just to make things clear. I did say that Jennings can and would improve. I just said it would take leaps and bounds for him to be ready to go without a redshirt.

You don't have to go on my word. Look at how hard our coaches are trying to recruit this big ticket QB's... :good!:

Is this kid at the QB camp? If not, why the hell not?
Aint like he is trying to catch a ride from Ft, Lauderdale.

I know the haters on here are going to hate but I think this kid will be the gem of our class he has tremendous upside and his athleticism and speed are top tier with all the info on how hard he Is working on his throwing fundamentals I think he has what it takes to be the qb and I know everybody thinks that the other qb we get this year is gonna be the qb in waiting but I like this guy would like to hear more about him recruiting other players to ut but that's the only negative about him from all I've heard though he is a shy kid so he will have to step up vocally to be a leader

Shy???? This kid is anything but shy. He is the most vocal leader on the team. He praises good play and will chew butt for bad.

Not sure what position he ends up playing, but I hope he is an impact player for us like Trey Burton was at Florida

Allow me to clarify "press". Might not have been the best choice of words. The have stepped up their game through mail. They sent multiple packets to the school last week.

This will be the case the closer to signing day. All schools will step up their game for him. He is a dynamic player with a huge personality (not shy). I tend to be a little more "nervous" about these situations than most.

FTR Jr not worried AT ALL!

He is 100% Vol.

There was also a comment about us taking another QB because he isn't "ready" to play.

That's false. UT was always gonna take 2 QBs. JJ knew this from the start. This kid is not scared of competition at all.

0% chance that they get him.

I was just pointing out, Bama has stepped it up for him. After a couple of games on ESPN this year, EVERYONE will be beating the door down.

He's a Vol

Week 0 ESPN vs Oakland. Kids haven't been told yet. A Riverdale coach called me and told me about it. Sunday during the day in the slot Beech played Station Camp last year. I'm fired up.
