'15 TN ATH Jauan Jennings (UT commit 4/7/14)

I really hope I was wrong about him not being able to play QB at the next level. He would fit in well in our offense if he continues to improve

Come on Cat.....come on over to the dark side. Feels pretty good over here. Let a lot of the fans annoint QD...Jauan will suprise a lot of folks over time.

He is the Titans player of the week, I heard. Watch the show tonight....except you have to sit through the Titans mess from yesterday. Better yet, DVR it and fast forward to when JJ is on.

It is great to hear that he is having such a stellar season at QB. I live in East Tennessee and don't have the chance to see him play. Please keep the reports coming.

You mean the light side? :) if we beat FL I'll be in a much better mood and may agree with you.

Is it me or do some of his opponent's defensive linemen look like they are about 5'6" ~150 lbs?

It looks like Mini-Me running around.

Not quite that small, but Independence uses the smaller and quicker model on their dline trying to disrupt and shoot the gaps. They look smaller, too, because the Blackman Oline is pretty big for a high school Oline. Also with JJ being 6'4, makes them look smaller. A lot of high schools have to resort to that tactic when they don't have a lot of size. Put the quick kid's hand down and let him sprint through a gap.

I know everyone is high on QD but JJ is my guy. I really think this kid is our next QB and will lead us to Atlanta a few times while he is here. He is perfect for our O and if he can develop his skills he will be lights out. This is my guy I am pulling for! Home grown kid playing for his state, nothihg better!

If everyone could please take their seats, we expect Volatil to be here any minute to commence his gloating!

I've watched JJ play twice. The kid is a freak athlete but his arm strengt and accuracy have a long way to go before he will be an effective SEC quarterback. Hope he gets there because we will need him.

Based on what we have behind Worley, Jennings may be playing QB at Tennessee next year.

Agree that it's possible, and I think what we have in front of Worley is just as big a reason. I don't think this O line is likely to be a quick fix. Jauan can buy time and make plays with his legs, which may be very important while we figure out what to do up front.

Dobbs would play before JJ. Think most on here think CBJ wants to RS Dobbs this year.Let JJ sit a year or 2 to learn and get stronger.

Agreed. Worley improved a lot since last season. Dobbs and Peterman have also improved, and will from now to next season. I would expect to see one if them under center in 2015.

I agree. Very little chance IMO that JJ plays as a TFR. Love his upside, but he will need some time. If the RS of Dobbs plays out throughout the year, IMO he is our likely starter in 2015. Good move by the staff to save a year for the kid rather than burn a year in mop up duty.

Lot of TX QB's haven't panned out. I did hear a stat that this year or last though that the state of TX had the most starting QB's on NFL rosters which kinda surprised me. Maybe it's just UTx QB's that flame out.

We have a small sample size...Stewart and Stephens...not exactly science.

IMO big mistake NOT to play Dobbs against UGA, forget the red shirt
