'15 TN ATH Jocquez Bruce (UT commit 6/17/14)

Making it you windmill Sir SandQuixote is a bit much :)

State your opinion and move on.

Who has CBJ missed on so far?
Too early to tell? Why yes, yes it is :hi:

Hey that's what we do here. We over exaggerate. Keeps the forum interesting.

Who has Butch missed on? Guess it depends what recruiting classes we are counting as his. I personally give him a pass on the 2013 class since he was basically keeping Dooley's class together. And his 2014 class has yet to hit the field.

Devrin Young....ha what a joke.

He runs like Jocquez Bruce, but frankly, his vid reminds me of Emmitt Smith. My reaction went from being nonplussed at stretching on a local player, to watching his tape and really liking this guy.

I finally watched his highlights and the kid is extra shifty. I wouldn't group him with the likes of emmit smith or Isiah Pead, but he does remind me of a high school player I played against. Birdie Dockery played at Cocke County high in Newport and was one of the shiftiest running backs I've ever witnessed. You couldn't tackle him if He was hemmed up in a telephone booth. Not ultra fast straight line speed, but could stop a dime, change direction, and accelerate like he was shot out of a gun.

Something to said for those players who can make guys miss in close quarters. Will deff come in handy in the slot. In practice videos you always hear Coach Z say, "big timers can one, two it." Meaning on a comeback/hitch/dig whatever route they can make their break in just two steps not more. For Z to be that impressed, Jocquez must've been breaking ankles at camp. Two thumbs up.

Head scratcher.

They should just name the recruiting thread to the indiscriminate "boom" thread.....

Got a commit from 3 star RB with not great speed who will be converted to slot receiver. It does take time to teach a RB to be a receiver (considering his has been a RB during his entire high school career). Time will tell in his development.

But I digress - this is not a place for discussion - it is a yet another boom thread...

Do you remember the days when we "boomed" about 3 star recruits with reckless abandon? And instead of meticulously picking them apart we celebrated all their diamond in the rough attributes?

Yes, that was the Dooley years. This is now.

There's not a team in the top five of recruiting that doesn't have a mixture of five, four, and three star players.

We should celebrate how far we've come with Butch that we're grousing about a three star that bleeds orange.

Just an observation.

You mad bro?
Maybe they should've offered 2* RB Nathan Cottrell and converted him to slot, then and only then would you be all giddy.

His coach was interviewed and said Bruce primarily plays slot for him. He just puts him all over the field because he wants ball in his hands. Do your homework and get finger out of cottrella butthole
