Exactly. If he had, it wouldn't free up a 2016 scholarship (well, maybe a blue shirt spot). But since he blue shirted and never was out on scholarship, that's one less blue shirt scholarship we have to count against the 2016 class.

Maybe, but not one sorrow is shed here from me. Never really questioned the scholarship offer, but 100% sure we can players like him a dime a dozen, and just as easily, more talented players.

Honestly? Not really.

The Martin drama was a scare, but aside from that, what did we lose? A bench depth DB (nothing but respect for Swafford, but that's what he was - the guys we brought in the last two classes are just more athletically talented), a bench depth DL/OL (it'll be another year or two before Mosley contributes, assuming he ever does), and a likely future bench depth WR. Bruce could have been a good special teams guy maybe, but again... not somebody I'm singing the blues over losing.

Individually, I wish it worked out differently for these guys (and the book isn't closed on Mosley by any means, but he needs to get his mind right). But collectively, I see two extra scholarship slots that we gained at a pretty marginal on-field cost. Whether it's 2016 or 2017, we'll put those to good use.

Meh, I questioned this one to start with. Players like Perry are underrated and I think will actually be very good for this team. I never saw it with this kid. I did root for him because it seemed like he was a kid that bled orange and would bust his ass on the field. Seems he struggled with the off the field responsibilities and that's a problem when you're a fringe player from the start. If the rumors are true I wish the kid the best of luck with his future though. Learn from your mistakes and make the most of future opportunities.

When you quit, you quit yourself. Sounds like he's not responsible enough to have what it takes to represent Tennessee. Not bashing the kid but very disappointed in him.

What does it mean for Team119 and the future? Bruce was having a good summer on the field and showed plenty of athleticism and the ability to help this team in some capacity during his career. It's likely not a huge blow, but he performed well this summer as a receiver and showed potential.

As for the future, since Bruce was a blue shirt he never officially went on scholarship. Blue shirts don't count until after Aug. 1.

I don't know what he did or didn't do, but this isn't just a "didn't go to class a couple of times" issue.

The scuttlebutt a few days ago was that Joc had walked on the Power T in the locker room that you're not supposed to walk on, [teammate] informed him that he wasn't supposed to do that, Joc bucked up on him, then [teammate] dropped him.
