'15 TN ATH Jocquez Bruce (UT commit 6/17/14)

Whether or not Butch offered this kid for his talent or PR, he knows each spot is important in rebuilding and obviously thinks he can help somewhere.

If you question this you really, really need to take a step back and think for a second.

I seriously doubt it was for PR. CBJ could have gone the PR route last fall with the Rollins kid from Fulton, but he camped and didn't get an offer, yet a 2 star from NC (Moseley) camped and immediately got an offer.

I've been impressed by the way Butch and his staff evaluate talent - they are often on guys before they blow up on the recruiting sites.

I was surprised he didn't make it to state in track because the one meet I saw him in this year, he dusted everybody.

He wouldn't have been offered at cb in my opinion.. His biggest strengths are his vision and quick feet.

I just feel like he wouldve committed on the spot if he could have

could just be a silent though but idk

They may be why kids blow up on recruiting sites. That's good, means the coaching staff is definitely trusting no one but their own skills to find talent.

May just wanna wait and see how many he can rack up if butch told him he has a spot. I'm not sure about that either

"I think he's a slot receiver, not a running back in college. He worked at rb, db, and wr at camp on Saturday and I think got the most work at receiver. He ran something like a 4.52 in the 40 three times in the later part of camp, and he ran 4.03 in the shuttle."

Your 40 time does not show your speed. It shows you acceleration in a short amount of time. You speed is not measured by the 40.

It doesn't take someone 40 yards to accelerate to full speed. The 40 yd dash is a measurement of top end speed. The 20 yd split (first 20 yds of a 40 yd dash) is a good measurement of acceleration.

This is not a PR offer. If you have seen him play you know he has a special knack for making moves at full speed that most others cannot. Now that the speed has been verified in camp that question has been eliminated. When he showed he had the hands to go with the athleticism, Butch and staff knew they had a perfect fit for the slot. They didn't have to call and ask Rivals opinion either, which is a plus. lol.

Like others on here, my only question is if the offer is contingent on a spot opening up by NSD. Seems like that is the case IMO. May be a gray shirt candidate as well.

A 4 flat shuttle is no joke! Kid has some serious quickness and agility. Hope we get him!

40 yd dash....

You're running in a straight line while no one is attempting to tackle you.

Yes....it is hilarious, because the majority of people determine whether a kid is a "football player" by their 40 time.

HILARIOUS.

Yeah, you're right....who the hell cares how fast your football players are? 4.4, 4.8..... what's the difference, what does it matter??

Incase anyone was curious...

Nathan Cottrell scoffs mockingly.
