'15 TN CB Ugo Amadi

Is Amadi a college track level athlete????

Are we recruiting for football or track?

Have not seen anything that makes it sound as though Ugo is not plenty fast enough to play CB. His 40 is listed around the 4.45 range(Looking at the beginning of this thread it says he ran a 4.41 at one of UTs camps). Wade was closer to 4.4.

Wade was on the track team. His speed was elite at CB. You could see it when he ran that deep ball down that they lobbed up to Desean Jackson in 2006.

I'd prefer Ordway, but Amadi is a nice get. It didn't bother me too much when we lost him because of his height.

I'd prefer Martin.

I would as well. Martin would be the taller CB the staff wants who also has the speed and skillset to cover SEC WRs.

Something just seems off with Martin and I'm not sure what it is. I can't imagine he is waiting by choice to take visits after Dec 8th before he announces. IF he was a take for UT, I think he would already be committed. JMO

Maybe Butch is just saving some commitments for the season?

Not sure why he would need to do that. I get why some think he does(to ease the pain following a loss), but does it really matter? If the class was 100% finished by game #1 I would not care a bit. Longer for the kids to bond and longer for the class to come together as future teammates. If a kid is willing to be a Vol today and I as a coach know I would take him, just take him and avoid any risk of losing him asking him to wait to commit later following a loss.

Maybe he's not waiting to commit but just go public. I'm sure some kids don't care when the media gets it. Especially for a recruitment as quiet as Martin's.

I think you yourself would admit to being more of a numbers man. These types of moves are for the "feelers" AKA The Ones Who Make the Most Noise When Bad Stuff Happens.

Plus, it's baller. Butch calls the shots.

If I am a commitment, I would want it public. It's a lot tougher for a coach to pull the rug out from under a recruit who is in good standing and a public commitment. I would not want to be a "silent" as the class is running out of spots and a lot of talented kids still considering the Vols. JMO

He is good but its because of the press, which I like, but hes not the guy you want on a shifty guy

Browner is fine better than 90-95% of the short CBs. That dude made a dumb point about height when the highest paid CBs in the league are 200+ and over 6 feet tall. There isn't anything to support that. Your best CBs are quite simply your best CBs. Regardless of height it's who is good at the position.
