'15 TN CB Ugo Amadi

Yep here is quote from DP on scout

Jashon moved to OL as well

That was expected. Robertson and Mosley both were expected to switch over to the offensive side of the ball. Suits Robertson better as well with his wrestling background.

Agreed. I'd love to see Robertson at LG in three years after Sanders leaves the hill. Jashon will redshirt this year. It will be a great thing.

We noted in the war room last week to watch for Amadi & Co. to potentially be in town over the weekend, and UT never has said it was going to give up in his recruitment. It's a long way to NSD, and Ugo is very close with Kyle Phillips, among others.

His stock has only elevated, and both Paul and I have seen him at least a half-dozen times and understand why. I'm really big on Amadi --- the player, the person, the teammate. He's got that defensive "it" factor, in our opinion.

Penn State, LSU and Tennessee also are trying to keep Amadi's attention. And I know firsthand that CBJ has made Ugo a personal priority.

On the Honey Badger comparison:

haha, ask the FortenBeast. Just called Ugo the TN High School Honey Badger last weekend. Except extremely high character. fantastic, fantastic family. Think one or two of his brothers are at or already graduated from Northwestern. Really a good dude. There's a reason Kyle Phillips and V.P. both, among others, gravitate to Ugo.

Robertson for sure belonged on the Oline. He fits the mold of what they like. I think he could make a hell of a center down the road.

I hope and think Mosley sticks at DT when he comes back. He IMO does not fit what they are looking for on the Oline. His body and frame doesn't match at with the type of lineman they've had so far at TN and their time at Cincy and CMU.

Is it just me or is it refreshing to see UT go after good kids again?

Seems like we have been going after risky character kids since the early 2000s when fulmer got slack.

With kids committing earlier and coaches not shying away from filling classes earlier, makes sense they would lean toward taking the kids who are doing things the right way. Will be less flip flopping on both sides for future UT classes IMO. I prefer it.

went and saw this kid play this weekend at fr ryan he looked unbelievably good.
dont know the whole story on him, but it would be nice, if possible, to see him in orange

• Slow-playing a recruit can sometimes work, depending on the school and situation. However, it does not seem to be working with Tennessee and four-star defensive back Ugo Amadi. The Vols backed off Amadi after he committed to Ole Miss while others remained in pursuit, but now in desperate need of additional defensive backs the coaching staff has been trying to get back into good standing with the Ole Miss commit. To further complicate the matter, four-star defensive end Kyle Phillips and Amadi are believed to be a package deal, with Phillips being a priority for the Vols from the start. So now it looks like both Phillips and Amadi may both end up at either Ole Miss or LSU, while the Vols are currently in third for both according to some sources.

So now to get Phillips UT would have to be willing to take Amadi and Perry as well. Interesting.

I think the recruiting sites are way behind on when all of this actually happened. I'm wondering if the coaches found out about all of this package deal stuff, and that's when they took Marques Ford instead.

Could be. I have felt for a while now that Kyle Phillips was no longer a priority for UT.

With us still possibly having room for another CB, Amadi would be one I would not mind seeing in Orange.

I think Phillips and Perry end up at LSU.

I think the fact that Tennessee didn't go after Amadi as hard as they could have back in the spring hurts and they are playing from behind now. It will be interesting to see how they do from here on out. I will say this, though. Tennessee is going all out now. Butch will be at his school on Friday.

Good observation. You could have a point...Though, I would much rather have Phillips than Ford, who looks like a long term project that will have to RS.

Butch will be at his school today per VQ. According to VQ, UT has really "ramped" up its recruitment of Amadi.

Hmm... Starting to wonder if the CB from Texas has backed off his commitment, or if we are not in good position with any of our top CB prospects. Or maybe we want Phillips so bad that the coaches will take a package deal to get him. Didn't he camp at UT this summer?
