'15 TN DT/OL Zach Stewart (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I was going to say that, but the dude said 1A and I thought Webb was 2A

Webb is a private school. One thing we need to remember about private schools in Tennessee is that they can get players that public schools can't get. Sometimes that may not be a good thing and sometimes it can be a very good thing.

You might have said something similar about Randall Cobb a few years ago, as he played for a 2A school. He's now the #2 reciever for the Green Bay Packers.

Only differance there is Alcoa went out of there way to player better competition outside of there region. Maryville, Fulton etc. I'll tell you why Cobb wasn't as highly recruited as he should have been. He never played the second half lol. My brother played against him and said it was the only time in his whole sporting life that this guy was going to make it big one day.

If some one has time, please post a list of players we have offered who play lower classification ball, like maybe Quinten Dormady.. YA know, maybe we should pull his offer too???

Wouldn't necessarily include Dormady in this. Texas 3A ball is probably still harder than 3A in any other state not named Florida, Georgia, or California.

His high school is tiny though. Only about 900 kids.

It's true the competition he faces within the area is very subpar, however, you have failed to realize (AFTER PEOPLE HAVE CONTINUALLY COMMENTED TO YOU) that he has shown out in camps AGAINST D1 COMPETITION.

Do yourself a favor and quit while you can. There's a reason why Zach is committed to Tennessee and you are sitting behind a computer. This is coming from a player who also played in the same area. Sue me ...

See you in court.

That's what I am thinking. 3A ball n Texas is probably more like 4 or 5A ball in other states.

To anyone interested that has "myVLT" Coalfield is playing Oneida
Zach Stewart is #55 in White

Been focusing on Zach and maybe it's the field conditions but he has a ways to go with his footspeed and agility. I've never seen him play before so I was real curious to see how he looked. I'm pulling for him and really hope he develops into a contributor. Based on what I see so far, he will have to play guard.

Same thing I said and got condemned for it.

Is a little stiff and needs to work on foot speed. Needs to work on the flexibility. It's the honest truth but doing a form of yoga, karate would help so much with his flexibility. Had a cousin play d-2 ball and he took yoga classes once a week and said that was the best thing he ever did for his football career.

I'm not sure why that would be the case. I've seen a lot of lineman play who went on to successful careers in college. Zach certainly has the size but I'm just not sure about his speed, agility and quickness.

Like I said, I've never seen him play before but that's my opinion after watching him tonight. The field is pretty wet and soft so I'd like to see him on a dry field to see what difference it makes.

No your spot on. What do you think about maybe playing center. I thing he might struggle if he has to pull block.

Not sure about center... he could be fine at guard as long as we are running mostly zone scheme plays (no pulling). Inside gap scheme would probably work for him but asking him to pull and get to the edge would be asking a lot for him.

I agree.

didn't know foot speed was a measuring stick for being a guard or tackle... it's all in the hips and arm length my friend. which, watching his film, I can say Stewart is a tackle all the way. Is kick step is elite.. just has to work on flipping and sitting into his hips

Lol no I'm sure he does.my wife is a teacher in the Morgan county school system ( which coalfield is in) and she has told me they all know there ABC's.

Maybe your wife the teacher will teach you the difference between their, they're, and there one day.

We're having trouble finding another OT for this class, so why would anyone think we would ask this kid to GS or look around. We don't need to be down a OG too.

Right now are we assuming Jones as Tackle and Stewart/Boulware as Guards?

Is Burrell a Guard?
