Anyone have a link to his game going on right now? I could think of worse ways to spend a friday afternoon at work.
This Quote from Stewart from a local newspaper
We asked Coalfield's Zach Stewart this evening what it would mean to him to win Friday's state title game against Union City. His answer shows why Coalfield has a chance to knock off the defending state champs. It's all about TEAM.
"I would trade every individual trophy and every individual accolade for one gold ball," he said. "If I wasn't a Tennessee commitment, and I was the 32nd man on the field, I'd be okay with that as long as we could win. This group of guys mean the world to me. All the work that I've put in has always been for Coalfield first."
He said this in an interview about winning the TSSAA Class A Mr. Football award. More of this story will appear in next week's Morgan County Today.
As a Coalfield fan and graduate I understand Union City will probably beat Coalfield as Coalfield will probably be out matched at several positions. But that doesn't take away from Stewart's accomplishments. He is still a very good player despite the outcome Friday.
The thing is. They shouldn't be on the field with yall. Union City is to big. I feel like they push students to onion county to stay in 1a. It's kinda a joke the talent these schools they play have to choose from versus them. But I do root for west tn teams so I'll take it.
Coalfield has a population of a little over 2000, Union City has a population of over 10,000. To put this in perspective, I live in Clinton tn now and our population is just under 10,000 and the high school is 5A

As an Obion County Alumni, I think this statement is absurd. Union CITY is a small school and a lot of kids in and around the town attend county elementary schools therefore they naturally go to the county school. Nothing unfair about it. They compete in 1a because its a small high school with small school population. They have good athletics at City and deserve alot credit. Congrats to UC and glad the championship is staying in Obion County. Also Zach Stewart looked very good the little bit of the game I watched. Excited that he is a Vol. GBO!
Maybe you're right. Idk. Obion County south Fulton and union city split the pie. Union City clowns these schools. Outside like 3 memphis schools and henry county they could probably beat anyone in west tennessee consistently over the last couple years regardless the division.
