Didn't Michigan get another highly rated WR to flip today?

They did ut he is not nearly as highly rated as Van. Van made a comment about MICHIIIIGAAAN that he felt like he was home or something similar. Dad did not want him at UM south because of their racist past, Van and his family lived in MI for 8 years while his dad coached the Lions. I feel like his dad will be good with UM North and mom ought to have some level of comfort with MI. I THINK HE IS A WOLVERINE. JMO

Which one of you morons was the first one who forgot that this was a recruiting thread about Drew Richmond and not about frickin' Michigan. Seriously, who gives a damn about Michigan on this board?

Ole Miss losing Van may have helped Drew decide to bail as well. We may owe MI a fruit basket or something. Jmo

F&G yeah MI does not really apply but then again does. The Ole Mi$$ class looks like it could possibly implode. They lost Leo Lewis who is the #1 ILB I believe I read. Van is looking at MI. A reciever they were after now appears to be going TAMU and CEECEE is leaning FL now. That leaves DR as the lone wolf so to speak. Most times good players it is said want to be in a class with other good players and there will be none with DR now. That seems to help us.

THEE FBI investigate the thing you moron, they found nothing.

I swear I dont know why UT fans keep harping about this, Auburn is our ally, or maybe you didnt know that.

Ummm no, the Iran/Iraq war of the '80s showed us that the enemy of an enemy is not necessarily a friend... We recruit against the Barn frequently and have lost 6 straight to them. They also recruit our commitments as hard as anyone.

Now, this is a Drew Richmond thread guys.

It's not playing the game, when you call a coach back up that sounded like had stopped recruiting you and gauge interest level and possibility of a spot in the class. Then, take an OV the last weekend before NSD, and stop returning texts of players from the school you are committed to, as well as not contacting the coaching staff of said school. All signs point to him wanting to go elsewhere...to be specific, Knoxville, TN.

Where did this info come from?

He may not sign with Tenn (I think he will though) but there are no comparisons with Adoree Jackson who was the longest of longshots from the start.

If Fortenberry's info about Richmond not responding to texts from Ole Miss players this weekend is true and in Fortenberry's words was "cut off from them" than this looks much better than some of you want to allow yourselves to believe.

Version of AJ? IIRC, AJ eliminated UT weeks in advance when he listed his top 5. That was as far as that recruitment went. Drew just visited UT on the final weekend, while committed to another school. Not really like AJ at all, IMO.

My comparison was only with regard to him being a 5 star, not being overly interested in UT from the beginning, and actually landing him seeming like a long shot to begin with. I hope I'm wrong and he does commit. I'd see that as a positive turn in the CBJ and staff era.

No offense Coug, but I hope you're wrong too.. I'm NOT a recruiting guru and I have NO inside info, but I have a good feeling about this.. I also realize my 'good feeling' and $.50 might get you a cup of coffee somewhere...

GO VOLS!

I can't imagine one of our top recruits going to another school the week before signing day and see him wearing the other school's colors, at a basketball game with head coach where fans chant his name and then pictures of him doing one the school's traditions (the rock).

I wish we knew for sure just hoping Drew is just waiting to send in his fax with ESPN broadcasting live from UT.

Call me crazy but I still have a bad feeling on this one.hoping I'm wrong come Wednesday

I feel fine either way. Jones put in max effort to get him, if we fall short I'm fine with it. Richmond is the guy that is at the top of our board, Bama, Ole Miss, and UT all wanted this kid badly. I can't fault Butch for continuing to pursue what he believes is our best option; the days of settling (dooley recruiting) for what we can get as soon as we can get it are over with. We're going after the best kids we can and most of those are going to be battles with other elite programs. Most of those battles we're winning but even Jones is going to come up short occasionally.

I feel the same way. I'm not made either way. Butch and staff did their best to flip the young man.

I wasn't optimistic at all up till here recently. I do believe we have him right now but it's going to be a battle to hang on.

You said it, I don't think many on this board understand the intense pressure that will be put on him to stay committed and sign with Ole Miss.
