I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's told them some good news, but we've all seen times when guys will still one staff one thing and another staff something else.

As we said earlier tonight, Tennessee has the momentum here. Can they hang on to Wednesday is the real question.

He's either a vol or he isn't. 50/50

I can't imagine one of our top recruits going to another school the week before signing day and see him wearing the other school's colors, at a basketball game with head coach where fans chant his name and then pictures of him doing one the school's traditions (the rock).

I wish we knew for sure just hoping Drew is just waiting to send in his fax with ESPN broadcasting live from UT.

VN would be histerical wouldn't we?

Call me crazy but I still have a bad feeling on this one.hoping I'm wrong come Wednesday

If Ole Miss' class was still intact, then I would feel the exact same way. Since it has completely fallen apart with all of their big targets, I feel much better about this one.

I feel fine either way. Jones put in max effort to get him, if we fall short I'm fine with it. Richmond is the guy that is at the top of our board, Bama, Ole Miss, and UT all wanted this kid badly. I can't fault Butch for continuing to pursue what he believes is our best option; the days of settling (dooley recruiting) for what we can get as soon as we can get it are over with. We're going after the best kids we can and most of those are going to be battles with other elite programs. Most of those battles we're winning but even Jones is going to come up short occasionally.

Ya good post. Earlier in the cycle it was frustrating that the top instate kid choose ole miss seemingly without even considering us. But now obviously we've given him something to consider and we can at least say our coach put max effort into landing the kid. Nothing else could have been done Imo.
Recruiting is a lot about effort. And Butch did all he could. I applaud his efforts with way it goes with this one player

I'm intrigued by everything I read in this thread, but what speaks volumes about Drew coming to Knoxville is the coaches canceling the in home with Pat Allen.

I still say, and some of you guys that are more experienced in recruiting than I will ever be correct me if I’m wrong. Does CBJ cancel the in home visit with Allen if DR hasn’t already silently committed to CBJ?

Agreed. Plus, Kahlil and Phillips seem to know that he committed to the staff. I know some recruits troll but I really don't think Richmond would be trolling those two.

Like rats leaving a sinking ship.... and apparently they are losing their best rats and we want one of them.

If some of our tops started leaving, I would be FREAKING out and the Dominos might start. The recruits don't really go to OM for their wonderful football tradition. Hugh has created a climb, but once they hit the top (Probably have already) its another down hill slide.

I hope.

Unless Allen communicated a similar decision to Butch?
