15 TN QB Matt Williams

Apparently, he got in trouble a lot at Blackman.

Suspensions and such.

Wouldn't go that far. He's not a "bad" kid. Just doesn't have it between the ears to be an elite college qb, in my opinion. Think a shorter, stockier Tyler Bray (minus the thrown beer bottles).

I'm not fabricating that.

I know people from Blackman and they say he got in trouble a lot.

They could be wrong, but it makes sense, because he's no longer at Blackman.

He did NOT leave Blackman due to disciplinary reasons and you can take that to the bank. He was benched, not suspended. I would classify it as staying in the "doghouse" rather than getting in "trouble". He did not endear himself to the team or coaches when he got benched so that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Beyond terrible competition

A different school every year!

Potential attitude issues!

I could care less how good he is or might be!

From my untrained, uneducated eye, he's got good accuracy. However, his release takes longer than it took me to post this. Probably still going.

The coaches can work on that though.

I remember Buck talking about this kid in October. Said he re-classified and has a laser.

If he was "elated" I like our chances. But let's not rush to anything. We can cherry pick who we want at QB. We have a lot to sell to those guys.

I agree. His tape looks pretty good but I am just wondering if we can land a more talented QB. Not saying he is not talented but I think we are after more higher profile QBs.

That is why I think the staff may plan to take (2) in 2015. Get a bit of a project type like Williams and still go after a top 5-10 type QB. Landing Williams early would at least give the staff a QB as a sure thing for the class as they can not miss out again. I think top QBs will still shy away from UT with Dobbs having at least 3 years left and Ferguson 4. Especially with the talk that Riley is the better of the 2. JMO

I've been of the opinion for a while now that they will take 2 at QB in 2015. One of those will be Jauan Jennings, because he's too good of an athlete to let get out of the state. Take him now and figure out whether he's got what it takes to be an SEC QB later. The other guy will be one of the Top 5 elite QB names that have been floating around out in Missouri and California. Maybe Stidham. We'll see.

Kid has great mechanics. Looks like a young Peyton with the way he does those drills. I'm impressed

Our class is most likely gonna be very small in 2015. Not saying your wrong but I am of the opinion that we might not have room to take two scholarship QBs in 15.

This dude has some really good footwork. Would love to see him commit to Tennessee.

No you wouldn't....just saying.

I have seen some say the 2015 class could be as small as 16-17. Others have said it would be 25. Taking 1 or 2 QBs in that class depends on that actual number. We'll see how it goes.

it will be interesting to see how many CBJ can take and i expect for there to be a lot of offers to a lot of different QBs and then weed em out till he gets the one or two that he wants

Williams practice vid looks really good,I'm sure the staff saw something they liked in him

Signing 2 QBs should be the highest priority for the '15 class. I'll be shocked if it doesn't happen, regardless of the overall numbers.

Also doubt this guy is one of them, just based on everything in this thread. JMO.

I go to Blackman where Matt went last year. Left Blackman because he had a run in with the coaches here and left. He went to LCA where they play NOBODY! Yea 50 TD is a lot but look at the people he is playing! He does very well at the camps he attends. Yes he is a good quarterback but anybody is when they play who he plays. If he was still at Blackman, he would not be starting over Jauan.

Agree. Butch seems to be creative with his recruiting techniques so you never know what rabbits he may pull out of his hat for the 2015 class.

So we should take your eval over Bucks, Butch, coach jake and bobby Petrino?

Take whatever evaluation you want to. Just knowing the situation and watching last year is all I need to know. It is Tyler Bray 2.0. BIG arm, and that is all. Not much in the leadership/mental toughness area.

In my opinion this is a fall back option if we swing and miss on the rest of our targets. I don't think that will be the case, so this likely won't be an issue.

I am curious to the context of the offer. If it was a truly committable offer I think he would have already committed.
