'15 TN RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn

Because he's from Nashville? Or because he's a more singular talent than what we already have committed or are in on?
He would be my backup plan if Reid left and I think he would be better than Love. IMO.
Most don't see him as a SEC talent. D1 talent, but not SEC
I respectfully disagree.

Just because he is from Tennessee doesn't mean we have to take him. That seems like the VN way though.....he is from TN.....my God we have to get him!!! Lmao.

Good grief.

For real? Man who cares where they come from? I want kids who are gonna win championships...no matter the state. He's going to be a good player, but just not in the SEC IMO. Seems a perfect fit for the Big 10

I see him as a great back and more than SEC capable. It's not so much that he is from TN, but since he is from TN and I see him as an SEC talent refer to my previous stated opinion. I'm definitely not one of the people that thinks we should take every kid in the state.

I did say "out of Nashville" to get the homers. Didn't go as well as I hoped. This is VN after all.

If KV goes to Nebraska he will be the next Big10 stud. I really like that scenario for the kid. With his speed and ability the Big10 would be great for him. Mark me down for it 2nd or 3rd round pick if he goes to the Big10. I only say those 2 rounds because of the devalue of the rb position in the NFL.

Don't really see how you're a 2nd/3rd rounder but not good enough for the SEC.

Do you know if Tn has asked him to be a preferred walk on or any other scenario?

Agreed. The only possible explanation is success had in the big ten, which may not be had in the SEC, could elevate a back's draft stock.

I'll explain to you how. Not all RBs that are highly drafted come from the SEC. The 1st Rb taken last yr was Sankey PAC12 he's from Ohio and recently said he never considered SEC. Thought he'd better translate in the PAC12 or BIG10. Guys it takes a very special Rb to make it in the SEC. Being UT fans you'd think most of you would understand that. We've watched several duds sign and leave as a has been. With the skill set that KeShawn possesses he'll be a good between the tackles guy with good spped which would be probably mid-tier SEC but top tier BIG10. He would probably end up weighing around 220-225 range and fit the mold of a all world BIG10 guy.

Agreed. It's no shade to Vaughn either...he just seems to me a perfect fit for the Big 10.

Then shouldn't we say it's more of the player's translation to the NFL, not college? I know what you're saying with the clarification, but I just want to make sure people don't think Sankey is a better RB than Jeremy Hill, Tre Mason, etc. in college. Their choice of college is what inflates their draft stock. JMO, of course.

Haha, I just did not know to what extent Tn has recruited him. Maybe telling if x,y, and z scenarios or what.

Would you walk on at Tennessee if Ohio State offered you a full ride?

As a non-traditional student I would play at many schools if given the chance to graduate debt free.

Depends on how well off financially family was. I would make them put in writing though I could transfer anywhere if did not work out after 2 years.

So you say he is a pretty darn good back but slow, right? I see his skill set translating well to the Vol's backfield. Look at our projected #1 and #2 skill set for next year. I mean really!

A. It doesn't work like that.

B. A kid that has major D1 offers is not going to walk on anywhere.

So you'd be ok with your family paying 20-30k for a project?

Lol, just stop.

If we whiff on love, kelly, and reid then we will grab Vaughn IMO
You do realize Vaughn is now a 4* on both 247 and Rivals, right? He must have really showed out this season.

If we can swing it, I'd take him and let Reid decide whether to stay committed or not. I thought we were going to take 3 RB's in this class before Scott transferred. With no Paulk, either, we have no depth at all behind Hurd.

Did not know he was bumped to a 4*. I'm also in agreement with you.
