Maybe, but I've seen mention on other sites from people who claim to be close to him downplaying what is being reported out there and that it is one person, a coach or something at his HS who is a big OSU blowhard who has been the one telling all these sites that he's an OSU lock. So who knows.
That would be sick. Van would be a huge get to go with Williams, North, Malone, Pearson, etc., etc. Still baffles me how an elite QB in the '15 cycle would go somewhere else.
Definitely. If we could land Williams and Jefferson, then we would absolutely have the #1 WR corp in the nation (at least on paper).
Jefferson is 6'3 outside WR with length and arnett was slot at 5'11
Maybe top QBs are wanting to see if the staff can develop QBs at an SEC level. This staff still has a lot to prove outside of just recruiting in the SEC.
I think this is an interesting point.
I think it's a risk for a young QB without the right competitive ego.
If one or more of Peterman, Dobbs, or Ferguson do end up being a serviceable QB, then it's going to be hard for a fresh out of high school kid to step right in like he'd like to. Kids don't like to wait to get on the field like they used to. Unless it's a program like Bama, where they have them lined up until 2020.
I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see a big name QB commit until the season is nearly over or through. JMO though.
Except QB, Bama can't recruit a top QB. They don't have the rep to develop QB's. NFL has taken a couple of their QB basically as a token bc of the success they had there. None have made it and neither will McCarron.

That certainly is a valid point. I believe, however, that geography also plays a significant role this year. Elite quarterback prospects are disproportionately located in California and the PAC-12 has more programs on the upswing than has historically been the case. (Yes, I know that we have had good luck in recruiting quarterbacks from the left coast in the past, but it does not seem likely that we will land one from that area for this class.) On the other hand, there are comparatively few blue-chip qbs in this year's class from the Southeast. Stidham would have been an excellent candidate but Texas schools were lined up to fight over him.
