I could be remembering wrong, but I think it was de1 that stated Thig did mutter something durogatory about her under his breath to someone at some special function and didn't realize Van's mom has superhearing and heard it. He didn't say anything outright to her, he just got overheard saying something not-so-nice about her. And top recruiter or not, everybody screws up sometimes. I'm going to hope Thig learned a valuable lesson.

Sounds like the CBJ and staff did what they could to resolve the conflict with mom but it just wasn't going to happen. I think CBJ made the right call in not wasting anymore time with Van's recruitment if she wasn't going to change her mind. The staff can focus their efforts on other recruits.

Best of luck to Van what ever school he goes to unless they play UT.
