Where is this guy for updates?Jefferson is all OSU. Just a matter of time. He says a lot of things to the recruiting people, but he tells them what they want to hear. He's been a fan since he was little, so when they offered, it was game over. He is a little bit of a different story because before he moved he had 0 ties to UT, so it's not like he grew up with the Volunteers in his backyard. Butch has done an amazing job recruiting him, but at the end of the day, he's fighting an uphill battle.
"It was really fun and I had a great time," Jefferson said. "My parents and I had a great time and it was good for them to see the campus and get a feel for Tennessee. I can't wait to come back and get this thing rolling."
"I pretty much knew what to expect and I really focused on hanging out with some of the guys," Jefferson said. "I got to see how all the recruits are like a family and I got to spend time with Josh Malone who is one of my really good friends. He doesn't push pressure on me and he knows what it's like to go through the process. He gives me a good sense of Tennessee."
"It's instate and you want to put on for your state," Jefferson said. "I know those guys had a big influence on changing how Tennessee recruits the state. I know they are going to do big things in the orange."
"Coach Jones has such a great family environment," Jefferson said. "I just love the whole atmosphere here at Tennessee. They have it rolling right now and I love how coach Jones and Azzanni work."
Today went very well with him. Dad really likes the Vol coaching staff. He's a big fan of Butch and Azzanni. Today was big because it clearly went well with mom and that was important. Tennessee had really been working hard to get mom on campus and they took advantage of her being there today.
It was a great day and impression on momma. As I have stated it was getting her on board that was key. Also on the comparison thing it kind of hard to compare him. Van is a very technically sound WR but who wouldn't be with a dad that played and coached in the NFL. The trip to Fla is primarily for a family visit. They're headed to Jacksonville in which is Coach's hometown. On UGA Richt is a very likeable guy and all their campus is nice too but when I say dad is all in on UT I mean he's all in. Another factor for UT is Josh Malone. He and Van have grown close and communicate on a regular. Not calling it a lock but I'd say it's gonna be hard to beat them with the work they are putting in. I mean guys they've been to Titans OTAs, minicamps etc. On a side note OSU is trying to pull all strings they hired the wr coach from Ravenwood about a wk ago. This really infuriated Coach Jefferson too as he stated they think I'm dumb but I can see right throught this.
