'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

The guy that switched his CB, didn't he have bama or another school selected? My theory is that since QD is already committed he can't change it to us and receive any points for it, so he took a gamble and selected Tejas.

Summary: meaningless.

Poster on VQ w great info.

He spoke to them all day and got to spend the day in the meeting room with him and bajakian.Coach Jake was giving dormady and his dad plays to implement into their system in high school so he would be ready to run stuff when he got here (His dad is his high school coach).

They have been here on their own time more than once and coach Jake and his dad talk regularly. I without a doubt in my mind think he is as solid as a recruit can be.

Yep. He had Bammer picked and then came up with the switch pick. He's also picked 3 other switches. I'm guessing he is hoping to get one of them correct so it will appear he actually knows something. He may have been told that QD is from Texas so since he didn't commit to Baylor he figured that Texas would be the choice. It would be smart of VN to just put this guy on Ignore.

After meeting QD and his father, I don't see a flip ever being a possibility. Very high level of class and I don't believe his family would be okay with QD going back on his word. Also, kid bleeds orange.

That's fantastic news.

Qb's like QD do not switch once their decision is made very often. Coaching changes are generally what causes them.

It's funny how many of us were disappointed when Gentry committed to Texas and caught off guard when Dormady committed to TN. Now nobody wants to make that trade except maybe Texas. It's so awesome following recruiting with this staff.

Good point!...sometimes luck is disguised with initial disappointment.

Yeah Freak does a great job with this site.

I love how little clutter there is. You don't see any stupid quotes that attach to the bottom of every post like in most places including other good ones like Gatorcountry and Land of Thieves. Perfect format that is well moderated. One sign of a good forum is how many rivals post to it. There are many very good ones here (the A&M guy is my fave) and they are treated well as long as they don't resort to insults. I was about to join VQ until I realized how nice it was here.

TX has the distance factor. It has burned us in the state of Texas before. Dalton Santos and the TAMU DB come to mind right off the bat. The state of Texas hasn't been very kind to Tennessee. One reason why I do not get very excited about TX commitments, until they ink.

Refresh my memory, I can't for the life of me remember who that was…thx

I agree. Kid looks 100% Vol to me.

IF a TX offer were to come AND he set up a visit to Austin, then IMO it's time to pull out the QB board.

Didn't he say he shut his recruitment down just 2-3 weeks ago? I'm with you Lebs, I have no doubt in my mind he's 100% Vol.

As Dormady puts up big numbers this fall, his stock will blow up and all schools will try to try and turn him.

The fact that his dad sat down with a Butch and the staff to learn the Vols offense and install it at his school, as well as CBJ telling them that his son and JJ will be the only QBs that the Vols will sign in this class, has pretty much assured Dormady will be a Volunteer.
