'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Based on Coach Jones' comments in the press conference today, it appears Dormady is ready and able to go for spring practice. Anyone have any info to the contrary?

I noticed that too. If he is healthy, I think he is the front runner for the number two spot. I like Jones, but spring practice will give Dormady an advantage. I think Jennings is the least likely.

Good. I hadn't heard anything lately and wasn't for sure if he was back to throwing. I wish the kid well. He's been through a lot and worked extremely hard to overcome some setbacks.

QD will be behind Dobbs. Sheriron Jones would've been second if he was an EE. Jennings will continue to develop as QB but will ultimately become a Safety.

I think all of them will compete and it will all shake out where they need to be. Was just looking for some input about his shoulder since it's been pretty quiet regarding his status and what the problem was.

Vols sign the #3 QB class (Rivals). UCLA #1 because te signed the only 5 star.

There will not be many years when 3 QBs will be signed. However, when you have only one QB on scholarship, you have to step out of the norm. We may have to sign two in 2016, depending on how the three we signed this year work out. One thing is for sure, we will not win championships if we don't have a stable of QBs. Just look at 2013 and 14. QB was one of our weakest positions and our offense was not very good.

He's a solid athlete, but let's not get carried away here. He would get smoked in a foot race by probably almost all of our skill position players.

Dormady's athleticism reminds me a lot of Patrick Towles's athleticism. He's sneaky and moves pretty well--well enough to steal a couple first downs a game--but he's never going to add the running element that someone like Dobbs brings.

i think a lot of the problems people are seeing with Dormady passes is inconsistent WRs. get around the big time talent we have where he knows what to throw and i bet a lot of that inconsistency issues go away. imo of course

This QB competition will be very interesting. 3 different QBs and 3 different skill sets. The offense can utilize either of them. I just hope injuries don't decide the outcome. And then there is Kendall coming in next year. I think accuracy and knowledge of the offense will be the key factors. Gonna be fun!!!!!

I wasn't overly impressed but I'm no scout.

I'm not either by any means but just going off reports from guys who evaluate and Coach's like Gruden, Butch, Kiffin and Saban all praising him I think we have a good one. I know a lot of fans like Jones and think he is our future at QB but I'm gonna go with Dormady. People can say what they want about Kiffin and I'm in that same boat, but he knows QB's and offered him after he came to throw for them. But regardless of who ends up starting down the road we have tons of potential at QB..Now the question is can they be developed or did they peak in HS. Really is the hardest position to predict on how a guy will play once he gets into college.
