'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

I think coaches telling us there was no one QB type for this system and then dressing Worley in a track suit to get broad sided as he feigned the run option is what fuels that fire. They spoke out of their ass (IMO) about fitting a pocket passer to this offense when in reality it was the inverse.

That does not take into account "this offense" at Cinncy where they were successful with a pocket passer. Worley's lack of success was that his skills did not translate well when the OL was so awful. The system would work just fine with a pocket passer, playmakers on the perimeter, and a good OL.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned. But the pic of QD yesterday showed him wearing #12, which is the same number Peterman wears. I saw earlier that it was confirmed Peterman is enrolled in grad classes which means he didnt transfer. Obviously a number swap easily explains this away but I hadnt heard anything. Does anybody have any info regarding this?

If Dormandy ends up redshirting he can wear whatever number he wants this year. Next year #12 is available for sure. If Peterman does stay on the team and Dormandy ends up being the #2 QB then he just changes his number. Not that big of a deal to change his number. Then he can go back to #12 next season.

I bought that line for a long time and while I agree with your theory any successful QB in this system has to be willing and able to run the option. Coaches will not remove that aspect. period. So it's has to be believable on some level. QD fits that mold perfectly but make no mistake he is neither a Worley or a Bray. Those type QB's don't fit this offense.

If you noticed in the pics that those numbers aren't what they will be wearing. Jennings was wearing #2 (Pig's #), and Tuttle was wearing #92 (retired)....so those were probably just what they wanted to wear for those promotional pics. Actual numbers will be sorted out in the future.

I think this kid is your backup QB this coming season. Not saying he's the future, but for this next season he's probably going to be the most ready of the three freshman.

If his shoulder holds up. He claims it is but it seems like both site are dropping small lines of caution when mentioning him as if they want to see it to believe it come spring that there isn't more to it. I could be reading too much into it but not knowing when he will be able to throw if it's weeks or months throws up a flag for me.

Basilio reported that the shoulder would likely hold him out this season. TIFWIW.

Weeks.

Let's see. Probably the strongest arm in this 2015 class of QB's and has clocked a 4.7 40 time with that. If he's healthy and all good in between the ears, I expect him to compete for the starting job in the next two years

Erik Ainge clocked a 4.6 40 time. Crompton was comparable too out of high school. 40 and shuttle times are great, but what makes a QB a true mobile threat (ala Dobbs) is their agility and ability to make people miss.

True. Dobbs isn't even particularly fast. But his strides are so long and his open field instincts are so good that he just glides right past defenders.
