'15 TX QB Quinten Dormady (UT Commit 6/9/14)

Wonder who will transfer 1st? Jennings or Dormandy? My guess is Jennings. It's gonna be another Dobbs/Ferguson situation. One of them will eventually transfer. That's why you don't sign 2 qb's in the same class.

Is that why Alabama signed 4 QBs in the last 2 years?

I'm very happy about this commitment. Coach Jones himself said he'd adapt the offense to the talent, but he can get his preference here at UT.

FWIW...

"Dormady might have been a bit unknown a relatively short time ago, but he also might have been a top-100 prospect had a torn labrum not robbed him of his junior season. That's not speculation; those are the words of two different football experts who have worked with multiple NFL prospects. So, yeah, Dormady has worlds of potential, and Rivals probably needs to reevaluate him sooner than later."

"Still, those are semantics. Tennessee's coaches believe Dormady fits their program; it's why the cerebral Mike Bajakian logged time with Dormady in late spring. Had the Vols' offensive coordinator, and Tennessee's recruiting office, not combed the country in their diligence, chances are Dormady wouldn't have told Austin Price Monday night how much Tennessee's recruiting pitch resonated with him; what he gleaned from some one-on-one time last weekend with former Super Bowl winning head coach Jon Gruden."

-John Brice, VQ

Think we got us a good one.

I caught it after the fact. I didn't see that he had spelled it Dormandy, so I missed your joke.

FTR, it was a very nice joke.

2 of those guys have transferred out. We needed 2 guys in this class. We didn't take a QB in the '14 class. After Ferguson left, Worley will graduate, and honestly who knows with Peterman. We need 2 talented competitors who can back Dobbs.

Looks like he can make the throws on his video. Trying to figure out why he's a 2 star ability-wise. I understand the injury, but that rating was given for a reason with the tape available. Can't tell arm strength much because his system requires a quick throw. Looks like his footwork can take a little work in the pocket as it's a little draggy and not very crisp, but that can be coached. Overall, he looks like a good pickup. Welcome to Big Orange Country.

Loads of arm-chair QBs on this board. It's fine to debate and all, but I don't understand the bashing of a kid who has committed to play at Tennessee.

Let's let him play his senior season first before his talent is judged.

I agree. I was just pointing out how stupid another posters comments about signing 2 QBs in the same class are.

Conor McGregor, laying the BOOM.

Oh, and can we all make a pact right now?? Nobody EVER calls him Q.D. anymore. Say it quickly if you're questioning "why not".

Tighten up your boots!! The Deer Rifle is comin!! Quinten will be here as an EE. He can't wait to throw to these receivers. He spent a lot of time with the receivers this trip. Coach Dormady told me that the coaches backed up what they were saying on the importance of Q on their trip. The coaches spent all their time with Q instead of that other FLA QB kid.
Up until Friday, Coach Dormady and I were texting a lot. He had a lot of questions about the Vols. Then Friday evening he went dead on me. I knew it was happening. He texted me earlier today as Quinten was calling the Vols coaches and said they were VFLs. Coach Dormady honored my request that I be told before Callahan.
We are getting a REALLY good one from an exceptional family.

Lulz. The "I knew it was happening" part cracks me up.
