and offensive tendencies mean absolutely nothing and all those defensive coordinators are fools for looking at game film for hours to determine what a certain offensive coordinator does in certain down and distance situations and what formations they run and what scheme they employ. and % of run to pass and how often the qb keeps on a zone read. yes that means nothing at all - nothing
After reading through about 25 pages of comments I noticed that you seem to be the expert about the type QB that Tennessee needs. I have always tried to make sure I knew what I was talking about before I opened my mouth so I'm asking you what makes you a QB expert. Have you coached or recruited QB's on a major college level? What type college football programs have you been associated with as a player or coach?
When someone speaks as you have been doing I'd expect them to let everyone know what makes them know so much more than everyone else. Now I'll ask one more question, is all your comments really just your uneducated opinion? I'm not an expert and I'll admit it!
Have you considered the possibility that CBJ knows what his system, his offense needs better than you do or the other TG love club members do? And that since CBJ offered QD then accepted his commitment he believes QD does in fact fit his system? I don't post a lot but this argument about who fits CBJ's system is driving me to drink. Just a tiny little bit of common sense should tell you that he won't recruit a quarterback that won't fit his "system".Not a chance ....
This is a forum for discussion. But I guess everyone is too busy high-fiving and "booming" to actually discuss how this QB fits into CBJ's offensive scheme. And despite what people are saying CBJ certainly has an offensive scheme that necessitates a QB that can beat you with his legs.

We just got a committment fron a qb over Alabama and everyone is acting like this is the worst day in UT history. Our fanbase will never be satisfied. We deserve what we've been getting the last 7 years.
This guy is a stud, and you have fans complaining about it????
God help your program and fanbase when you get this caliber of talent and your fans are like "he sucks".
They were blinded by the *'s and the possibility of having Usain Bolt play QB for Tennessee. I think they will come to grips with things shortly. It'll be alright.

That is the reason that Coach Majors called a lot of the Vol fans "The Legion of the Miserable" (I think that I got that term right)
I never really understood why until the internet gave me more access to a variety of "fans". The miserable only seem to appear when they are unhappy about something UT related. Look at all the posters in this thread that you have never seen a post from before.
Me personally, I am happy for any recruit that picks UT. :hi:

He doesn't run the ball at all in over 9 minutes of highlights - not a single time. I haven't seen him run it once in any of his film. This may be due to the film's focus on highlighting his passing ability or it could be because he had 0 rushing highlights to include.
I am not saying this to be negative. I am pointing this out for those who claim they have seen him rush the ball in his film.
If there is film out there that includes him running the ball, would someone please link it?
Hopefully we'll get a better idea of his all-around ability in some of the film that surfaces during/after his senior year.
Long time lurker but time to throw out some logic here. Why put all your eggs in the Gibson basket and take the chance that you could be left without a qb come February? Who knows whether we could've pulled Gibson or not. We didn't have the luxury to wait on him. I'm not a coach but Dormady's film looks good to me and he was only a sophmore. I think we're lucky we got him and should be happy to have his talents. Pretty excited about the future of the program.
