Agree with the first sentence but at least some of the blame goes on the WRs. Don't agree at all with the second sentence, Worley will be much better this year, not ALL-SEC or anything but much better, again because the WRs will be better too. And I just looked up the numbers and you are correct but in almost every other category Worley was better while everybody on the team was learning the new system. When Dobbs stepped in the team had had more time to get used to the system so where Dobbs started was a better place team wise than where Worley started. Everytime someone says its all the QBs fault I have to say what about the WR running wrong routes, dropping passes or TEs falling down. It most cases it is impossible for the average fan to tell where the play went wrong, we don't know the calls or the routes. Its a team game, the whole team wins the whole team loses, if one person on the team can't get it done someone else is supposed to step up, even if it is at another position.
Dobbs had 56 yards passing and 2 INTs with 0 TDs against Vandy. I know some people wanna blame it on the block in the back, but we never shouldve been in that position.
Last year Worley was 55.6%. 10 TDs and 8 INTs
Last year Dobbs was 59.5%. 2 TDs and 6 INTs + 1 Rushing TD (all 3 TDs against UK)
You cant say Dobbs played great and then say Worley was throwing them in the dirt. Both of them made some bad throws. But 1 thing that Worley did that Dobbs didnt, was throw the ball away sometimes (although not too often)

Your points are valid, but I will offer some counter points.
1. Worley was a junior, with three years in a college program. Yes, he had to switch coordinators and offenses, but he was experienced. Dobbs had been on campus for a few months when he was thrown into the fire.
2. Worley had been the presumed starter since Bray declared for the draft. He had received a huge proportion of the first team reps, while Dobbs had likely been told he would redshirt, and received 4th team reps. The amount of practice reps at TN that Dobbs had received, in comparison to Worley is so miniscule... I have no idea, but would venture to guess Worley has received more than 50 x the reps in his time here.
3. Dobbs, IMO, clearly has a stronger arm. I don't think there is a question that he is fleeter of foot.
4. Outside of the Vandy game, I thought Dobbs looked much better than Worley in his incompletions. Worley had so many that were inexplicably in the dirt, behind the receiver, etc. Maybe it was poor route running. We know that both QB's had to deal with the same pitiful receiving corp, outside of North.
5. I feel that Dobbs has MUCH more potential that Worley. I think we have pretty much seen all that Worley can do. Sure, he may be a bit more accurate this year, and that will be great. But you are not going to see him as a faster player with a stronger arm. He is not suddenly going to burst with confidence (unless he get's a sip of that Palardy juice.) I think Dobbs has not yet scratched the surface of what he COULD be. I know, this is a lot of speculation on my part. Off season is fun. :salute:
I know this probably has no input on what may happen. However, Dormady has said he thinks that he will be the only quarterback we sign for 15'. I know Jennings is a quarterback too but more project that he will be a safety & not a quarterback. VolNation what do y'all think & let the discussions begin?
Please! Let's have that discussion for the 25th time in the 50th different thread. Dormady is a QB, Jennings is a QB, and if we land Gibson, he will get a shot at QB as well. There is nothing else to discuss. Someone will win the job, and the chips will fall from there however they fall....others find a new position that they excel at, are the back-up, or transfer. What's so hard about this to understand.
Btw, VFLinFL, if you were being sarcastic, then you forgot to use the blue font.
I expect Worley to start, improve very slightly from last year, and Dobbs steps in when Butch feels he is ready... Or Worley has played worse than expected
I'll add that in the Vandy game, after Croom got hurt Dobbs had nobody to throw to and his hand was injured(rumored to be anyway).
